Well built, and will last.
Great for micro movement for macro shots, overall happy with this.

Wobbles from side to side.
The media could not be loaded. At first glance, it looks really well made and like it will do the job for focus stacking. When at either end, the rail is rock solid, but as soon as you turn a knob to start moving the rail, it starts to wobble from side to side on the Arca-type mounting plate, which you will see in the video. It's at its worst in the middle of the rail. Even when being really gentle when turning the knob, it still moves and throws your photos out of alignment. Fortunately, they can be realigned in the stacking software if they are not too far out, but this shouldn't have to be done. Also note that the knobs are wonky. There is also a slacking and then tightening of the knobs about every half turn, which results in inconsistencies in how much the rail moves forward or backward. I've noted sometimes that it didn't appear to move at all. The thumb wheel is also very hard to turn. It's okay when attaching the camera, but when trying to remove the camera, it takes some force to turn it. For now, it will do until I find an alternative that is still affordable, but I can't recommend it.

Does the job well but missing the rule markings
It’s is a nice stable robust bit of kit, made of metal with nice fine movement.Only thing missing is the millimetre markings shown on the listing photo but doesn’t stop it working well, unless you want exact measurement of your focus adjustments, so I have knocked one star off

Almost unusable.
Seems 50/50 whether you get a good or bad one. After reading other reviews, I gambled and got one, figuring "it can't be THAT bad". I did get a really bad one. The finish is nice, mine had the measurements printed on it which a lot of people said didn't. The metal feels nice and smoothed edges. But the screwthread is bent which makes the sloppy movement when turning the knobs. When a camera is mounted, there's so much movement the camera moves in all directions. When you're at very high magnifications trying to focus stack something that's smaller than a couple of mm it gets fustrating. I normally don't return things and just make do or chuck them, but £30 I paid for this is a third of the price towards a better one, so I'm returning it.

Good way to create a cheap macro rig
I bought this to create a cheap macro rig and it works very well for that. My only gripe is that the photos with the description said it has a scale printed on the sides, which it doesn't. It's still usable though so I only knocked one star off for that.

No distance scale on delivered item
No distance scale on delivered product... essential for a focus rail

Poorly engineered for its purpose
This looks good but, when a camera is mounted on it there is play between the base plate and the carriage. Given this is for very close focus use, this play rather spoils the micrometer adjustment as it moves the image slightly when you adjust the device, the weight of the lens changes the tilt of the sensor plane. When you have a DoF of a few mm, this is a bit of a problem.

"IT DOES WHAT IT SAYS ON THE TIN"
It just works to the (enth degree) and that's it. Highly recommended.

Allen key and threaded adapter missing, both times I ordered.
The slide and main parts all seem to be very good quality with a very smooth operating parts. However, I've tried to order this twice and it was missing the Allen key and threaded adapter (the part that I needed the most).

Not recommended. Mounting plate wobbles, making it worthless for macro shooting.
The so-called "Arca" mounting plate is not machined properly and does not correctly fit an Arca mount. (I tried several mounts, and the plate on this product fit, or rather didn't fit, the same in each.) A tight mount to the tripod therefore cannot be accomplished. Obviously, a macro rail must be secure and steady to be of any value. The amount of wobble induced by this product is enough to destroy fine focus, which is the whole purpose of the device. This is a fatal flaw.Too bad about the plate, because the rest of the machine appears pretty well made. It is made of quality materials. There is very little play in the screw mechanism, and aside from one rough spot the platform moved smoothly throughout its range. It is compact and easy to carry. If the mounting plate was properly made, it would be a good value.

Looseness let's camera move
I'm focus stacking. Between shots moving the worm gear causes wiggle movement between plats/parts. I'll need to try and shim them up with thin aluminum or something.
