Good for sparks only. It didn't prevent the heat from burning the table that I placed on it the mat and on top of it the barbeque stand.

It does what it’s meant to do and has saved the floor in my hot tent from getting burnt more than once

Absolutly love this fireproof blanket. We have used it for both our winter tent camping stove that heats the tent AND for under our portable fire pit fueled by propane when we are in desert conditions/areas that don’t allow open flame. It helps keep the dry grass underneath your propane fire pits from heating up/risking fire. Within the 4 season tent with the heating stove, it gives extra barrier over the canvas which helped prevent the snow from melting and making a divot under the tent flooring. We switched to this from bringing fireboard and its way more portable and efficient to transport.

This thing is great. I've dropped so much roasting hot coals on this thing with no material reaction. That being said I do not know if there is any heat transfer through the material. But I got one of those fire "proof" mats and that this has melted into an unrecognized mass. And I do have scorch marks on my wood floors from where the mat was NOT on the floor
