Wood splitting monster.
Where was this tool when I was 18? Very well designed and balanced head makes for relatively easy splitting even on white or red oak with twisted grain, crotches or medium sized limb scars. As someone that splits 30-40 cords a year this maul is a real time and effort saver. Rounds that would take 6-8 blows to halve with my old maul require only 3-5, and I'm 57.This maul is WORTH THE PRICE, if this one ever wears out I will gladly replace it with another. But it realistically may out last me. Word of warning, don't "lend" it to anyone, you"ll never see it again.

Très bonne qualité, assez lourd
Très belle qualité, efficace grâce à sa forme (angle assez ouvert) et son poids relativement important, et durable grâce au manche en Hickory protégé du manchon métallique.Nécessite de bien le tenir lors du choc, car plus lourd que les merlins habituels.Billots très noueux peuvent être achevés en frappant à la masse sur le merlin, dont la forme du côté "à frapper" est large et s'y prête bien.

Arrived damaged
The handle is already damaged, I just opened the box (no signs of damage on the box) to see this and I'm very disappointed.

Ho spaccato la legna ricavata da tre alberi di venti metri in tre giorni.Incredibile quanto questa ascia sia ben bilanciata, di qualità, resistente. Un amico taglialegna voleva rubarmela non appena l'ha provata.Grande ascia.

Not a brand new axe
I just received my axe and it looked like it has already been used and showed signs of wear. There's a chip in the blade.
