Xtend & Climb 961 Stable Stool, Mai Tai Red

I have the more expensive Cramer version of this stool, about $57 or twice as much as this one. I loved it for the 16 years I've had it for reaching the high shelves in my kitchen. My 5'1" daughter recently moved into a house with a tiny kitchen. She needs to be able to use every inch of storage conveniently and therefore needs a stool like mine. I took a chance on this cheaper version. It seems plenty sturdy but time will tell... It is lighter which I like because it is easier to kick across the floor to position it for its next task.It comes shipped nested in two pieces. Some negative reviewers complained about the top not staying connected to the base. I placed it together and it came apart easily. Rather than summon my husband for all problems mechanical (I hate doing that), I examined it and saw that the top's legs needed to be jammed into the bottom's openings so it would spring outward and lock. But how to do that with just using my lady-muscles? I placed the two pieces together and carefully stood on it while placing my palms on a counter to steady my body. I then stomped down with one of my feet over one of the top's legs (the other foot remained stationary). I heard a satisfying click. I got down, rotated the stool, and then repeated for each of the other two legs and, ta dah! , the task was accomplished easily in minutes. The pieces were wedged together securely so I grabbed it with one hand and whisked it upstairs to show off my latest brilliant purchase :)

I use it in the kitchen to reach the top shelves and it’s been great so far. Comes in two parts which click on easily once aligned properly

It was nicely packaged and easy to assemble. Love the red color and I'm thinking about using it as a chair stool for my gardening...

It works as advertised.

It is nice to have the safety of staying in one place once you step up and still being able to move it around easily without picking it up
