Thorens Standard Belt

I am an audiophile and I have a Thorens TD 160 turntable. I have tried no-name belts that promise performance that is as good as or better than the original manufacturer's belt, but they always disappoint. Yes, I know that the Thorens brand name is no longer associated with the Thorens company of the 1900's that manufactured the high end turntables that audiophiles covet, but the Thorens brand belt is still made with that same high standard of quality. A Thorens brand belt works reliably for a few years until it wears out, but those off-brand belts selling for half the cost of a genuine Thorens belt often don't fit perfectly and, even if they do, they don't perform with the right degree of elasticity - at least not for more than a few weeks. I have now been using my TD 160 for 2 months with this genuine Thorens belt and the platter has been spinning reliably at the exact same speed. I won't make the mistake of trying to save a few bucks again with an off-brand replacement belt. I will continue to buy this genuine Thorens branded product because it seems to be the only thing that truly works!

The media could not be loaded.  The old belt was generic and was with my TD-145 when I bought it in 2003. It had stretched to the point where it took 3 seconds to start, and when you shifted out of 45 back to 33, it'd just drop off completely.This belt is the real deal, it works properly, starts almost instant, shifts properly and Rutherford Audio, the vendor I picked, is the authorized distributor for Thorens. Thorens is still around, still supporting their old tables, and making new ones of all sorts including suspended like our 145s, 160s etc. We appreciate that, Rutherford, I hope you know.

My old belt kept slipping off, especially when stopping and starting again. This new belt appears to have solved that. I would suggest taking the belt off if you dont use it often. Im sure i didnt use it enough and it got stretched in a specific part of the belt.

Works well on a Thorens TD-165

Easy to install and perfect fit. Received a few days after order.

Damn turntable is worth so much, just replaced with OEM belt.Sure an aftermarket would be fine, but only on my 2nd belt after 40 years.

It was a little tight when it was being installed, but the belt will probably relax with wear-in. The turntable (Thorens TD240) works fine now.

De "belt drive" heeft de juiste benaming maar niet de juiste afmeting. Niet bruikbaar.
