UPDATE: UTTER GARBAGE - [Former title: A fantastic product for the money.]
DEC 2016 UPDATE:ADDENDUM: This is the final stage of unraveling for this watch. It simply does not work anymore. Shortly after my last update in July the heart monitor laser wouldn't shut off when the heart monitor was not on. This caused the battery to die more quickly. With the battery and the annoying menu I began to get tired of the watch. The touch screen became finicky and I had to try several times to tap apps. I put the watch away for several months, taking care to shut it off first. I charged it fully and restarted it today and the heart monitor laser is still constantly on and now the times homes up but the touch screen does not work AT ALL. I basically have a watch with incorrect time that I can't adjust because I cant get into the menu. DO NOT BUY THIS GARBAGE!JULY 2016 UPDATE:ADDENDUM: Menu navigation needs improvement. I am often accidentally cutting on and off Bluetooth at the home/clock screen because the swiping motions seem not to be too intuitive or predictable.I want to be able to delete my contacts. I will never be making call through this thing and I don't want to take the chance of "watch dialing" someone by accident. There needs to be a system reset method that is easy to find in case there is a problem. One this that highly annoys me is any device, analogies or digital, that forces me to have a date in a certain format. I'm an American and we do not put the date first here. Actually, I prefer the military method of 11JUL2016, however I could tolerate the civilian digital method. I can't stand being forced into the European method of 11-7-16. To me that means 11 November. All that said, I still really like this watch and would suggest it to others.ORIGINAL REVIEW POSTED SPRING OF 2016:This watch was given to me as a gift because I like tough tech. My philosophy is if it can't survive a beating with a hammer and still work, I probably don't want it. OK, that's an exaggeration, but this is a pretty awesome watch. I had considered getting a smart watch before, but I am too practical to put that much money down when my phone does it all anyway. The things a smart watch did that a phone didn't weren't worth hundreds of dollars. Now, with this watch, it is worth it and I'm happy. This is a neat little watch. It is obviously all steel. No plastic or cheap materials are in it. This causes the watch to seem very sturdy, however, this also comes at the cost of weight. If you want a light watch, this isn't for you. The band I received is old fashioned military style OD green nylon (not canvas as advertised) with a coyote brown (military guys will know this color) leather strip sewn on for comfort and added strength at the adjustment holes. It is very comfortable to wear, and the sturdy, well made band keeps the watch from flopping around when you're active - something I hate but never have to worry about with this product. It has fully functional blue tooth control of calls and contacts with a paired phone. This is a feature that I care nothing about, but others might. What I care about are the heart monitor, pedometer, altimeter, and thermometer all of which I use in my life and all of which work absolutely flawlessly. So why the 4 star rating and not 5? Well, because the directions that came with it are difficult to understand, don't have the information that you need to operate the device. I had to find a YouTube video of a similar product for pointers. Also, the instructions are full of difficult to understand, sometimes hilarious "Engrish". For those of you that don't know, "Engrish" is Internet slang for terrible and humorous bad English by Asians that produce statements that make nonsense or are funny. It's obvious that these folks don't have a proof reader and whoever writes their English instructions doesn't have a full understanding of the language. It's mildly annoying. This is only in a few menus, though. Perhaps an update will fix them.
