Not just for tools.
I grew up in a world with metal toolboxes, so I'm always sceptical about plastic ones. I decided that my back could use a break from carrying all of my metal toolboxes around. After buying some of these DeWalt TStak System boxes, and using them regularly, they've held up to a lot of punishment. They're very well built. The drawers slide in and out with ease, and latch to stay closed. I especially like that I can change out one box, so I'm not lugging around tools that I don't need for a specific job. I can keep specific tools in specific boxes, and change the stack of boxes to fit my needs. The Tstak System makes for a great toolbox. Even if you're trying to find storage solutions for other things, like craft supplies, these DeWalt Tstak System boxes can still help you stay organized. I especially like the drawered boxes for my craft supplies. I have a 4.5 foot tall mix of the deep single drawer, and the double drawer boxes. They sit on the attachable DeWalt Tstak Dolly, so I can easily move the stack from a closet to my craft table/bench, and back again when I'm finished. I even decided to put a DeWalt Tstak System Deep Long Handle box on top of this stack, where I put my airbrush compressor, airbrushes, hoses, and other airbrush supplies. While the size of the stack is large, it's easy to move around. The material thickness of each box makes the entire stack solid. I like these boxes so much that I decided to buy some of the other types of DeWalt TStak System boxes. They make several different types, and they're all great. I've only had one box fail, which was a drawer that didn't want to close correctly. I sent an email to DeWalt, asking if there was a something that I could do to fix the drawer. They asked me to send them some pictures of the issue with a copy of my receipt, which I did, and they offered me some helpful tips. To my surprise, they also sent me a replacement box. After that, I'm all in on these DeWalt TStak System boxes, and my back keeps thanking me.

DEWALT Store: DeWALT TSTAK III V2.0 Tool Organizer (DWST17803), Single Deep Drawer, Top Handle
This product is another DeWALT TSTAK case that I am adding to my collection. It all began with the simple three case set where the bottom case has wheel and is rolled around like a hand truck. That one was the DeWalt TSTAK Tower (DWST60404). I have since added one of the DeWALT TSTAK IV V2.0 Tool Organizer (DWST17804) with the double drawers, two of the DeWALT TSTAK II V2.0 Tool Box (DWST17807), and one additional DeWALT TSTAK V, Organizer Case with Clear Lid (DWST17805). This product, the DeWALT TSTAK III V2.0 Tool Organizer (DWST17803) with the single deep drawer will go below the double drawer unit in my TSTAK Stack. I particularly like the TSTAK products because of their size, their very tough build qualities, and their versatility. Because of the cost of these items, I search and wait for the items I want to go one sale and, fortunately for me, Amazon has had several good sales this year. I am hopeful for the upcoming Prime Day. This is another purchase of the DeWALT TSTAK products for me. They are tough, they fit together well, and they integrate with the smaller DeWALT ToughCase+ containers, as well. The DeWALT TSTAK cases are made of quality materials, they are very durable, and yet, still portable. The DeWALT TSTAK products are made predominately of polypropylene polymer (for the case body, top, and handles) and they also use Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene (ABS) for the latches used to connect the individual components of the TSTAK system. Most of the case handles are over-molded with a Thermoplastic Rubber (TPR) coating to make carrying heavy cases a little easier and more secure. Also, they employ all steel over-center latches to secure the case’s top to the bottom, a steel hinge pin to connect the top and bottom sections together, and the ABC latches utilize a steel hinge pin for strength. Finally, I like that most of the TSTAK V2.0 products have an IP54 rating, though the rating could be higher if DeWALT would add a resilient seal into the top of the case. This box is particularly well liked because it has a handle on the flat top and also on the front of the tool box. I have finally begun to organize my tools thanks to these cases. I have purchased polyethylene foam that is custom cut to fit DeWALT TSTAK boxes. The DeWALT foam comes in the all-black variety and other sellers offer red and black multi-layer foam and some others offer yellow and black multi-layer foam. The Black & Yellow multi-layer foam from ShadowFoam looks particularly sharp when it is used to hold my DeWALT tools. I am working hard to organize and secure my tools in the TSTAK system.

pretty amazing product for the price
I have about 10 of these, as well as the craftsman version (it is red). What you get: Smooth slides, durable outer box, interior with a bunch of separate bins. The thing feels unbreakable. They are heavy, so don't think you'll stack 4 of these like a tool box. You'd need to be a bodybuilder. But I use them in a workshop, and they line the walls. You can also make your own dividers out of basswood and glue them in, if you're handy. I just love these. I have one wall with the red craftsman ones, and one with the Dewalts. There is also one with 3 drawers, and those are great for screws and such. Best of all, they all clip together and the 2 company's models work together.

what are you waiting for buy it already
The Big Win: No More Unstacking The best part about this deep drawer is that I don’t have to take my entire TSTAK tower apart just to get to a tool at the bottom. The ball-bearing slides are smooth, and the drawer stays level even when I have a heavy box sitting on top of it. Storage Capacity I was worried it wouldn't be deep enough, but it fits my dewalt batteries plus some. The removable cups are a nice touch for screws and bits, though I ended up taking the cups out to make room for my Klein multimeter, circuit breaker finder, outlet tester, dewalt batteries. Build Quality The plastic feels sturdy enough for daily use, and the metal latches that connect it to other boxes are solid. One thing to note: there is a small latch under the handle you have to squeeze to open it. It’s great for transport so the drawer doesn't slide open in my truck, but it takes a second to get used to. One Small Warning If you have this at the top of a stack and pull the drawer out fully while it's loaded with heavy tools, it can make the whole stack tip forward. Just be mindful of the weight distribution! Verdict If you’re already in the TSTAK or Craftsman Versastack system, this is a must-have. It's much more convenient than the standard lids.

Also great for storing action figures
Grabbed some of these TSTAK modules on sale to store action figures. They're a massive step up in terms of protection, portability and aesthetics from the ratty old cardboard boxes I had them in before. Very likely overkill, but these beat having termites and disintegrating cardboard. They're basically stackable, tough plastic shells with metal clasps and a metal rod in the lid's hinge for durability. A common complaint I see with this TSTAK system is that the boxes have ribbing/supports/cutouts that reduce the amount of useable space inside. I completely agree that the ribbing can be a nuisance when trying to fit your reciprocating saw or drill into a box, because even just 1 inch can be a dealbreaker. But since I'm dealing with flexible action figures, the cutouts and supports translate to a negligible 2 or 3 less figure capacity. I bought 6 different modules so I'll give quick thoughts on each. Clear Lid, Short Box This one looks to be the most cramped when looking at the product images, but it's actually the roomiest. The clear hinged lid doesn't have bulky support ribs to take up valuable space. The included yellow containers sit inside a giant black insert that wastes a lot of the space, but you can easily remove it all by pressing a few tabs! I dont know why this isn't pointed out by DeWalt. You can use the insert and containers to organize your car's trunk I guess. I fit about 60 action figures in there (6 to 7 inch scale) plus random accessories. Black Lid, Short Box There's nothing fancy about this one, it's just a box with a hinged lid. It's the same size as Clear Lid but doesn't include the containers. Also, the lid has an extra handle and bulky ribs under it that eat up some space. I use this as a basic toolbox and it fits lots of stuff. Long Handle, Yellow Lid, Short Box A little less vertical capacity than the Clear Lid, but it adds it back as a separate storage space inside the lid. I use the lid storage for extra figure hands, heads, and other small accessories. The lid storage cover has ridges that when closed prevent the contents in each small compartment from getting mixed. This box also has a long handle on top that flips down flat. I think this is intended to be used as a top box in a stack, to give easy access to the lid storage and so you can muscle the stack around with the big handle. Long Handle, Yellow Lid, Deep Box Same as the previous box but taller. It includes a removable tray so you can carry around wrenches or paintbrushes or whatever. Deep Drawer I wish these drawer modules were cheaper because they're very useful. Obviously, you can put them lower in a stack and still access the contents. If all you need is a drawer and not the stacking gimmick, just buy something else. These work great, and include a bunch of containers for organization, but the cutouts and strength-first design of the whole unit wastes a lot of space. Tote This is what you want if you need maximum storage with no frills. It's just a box. It doesn't even come with a lid, if you want to cover it you'll have to stack another module on top. It includes a removable insert and long flip handle. The TSTAK Tote is about 20 bucks after tax at your local hardware store, so don't get ripped off by Amazon prices. Also, Craftsman sells this identical system (they call it Versastack) but with red accents instead of yellow, so get whatever is cheaper or whichever color you like better. As a final note, these boxes had some STANK on them, I had to air them out for a day. Maybe they smelled bad from being in a hot delivery truck, but it's something to consider if you plan on putting them somewhere hot.

DeWalt TSTAKs are the new Craftsman quality
DeWalt is the new Craftsman quality. Inexpensive price, quick delivery. Solid and sturdy construction and design. Ordered one deep and one shallow. Received shallow, and ordered another. Then order another deep. Then ordered 4 shallows and 4 doubles !!! I am beside myself putting all my tools into these drawers. Compartment unit designs allow mix and match allow shallow-shallow, shallow-deep, and deep-deep connections. Handles are strong and firmly lock in place. Ball bearing drawers are a joy to unlock and pull out, and push in and lock. With the DeWalt trolley, this is going to be ultimate ease of transport.

Great deal
UPDATE: Just an FYI these less than $35 a few months ago. Really happy with this. I’m a commercial door service tech. I service anything related to commercial doors which is a lot more than people realize including automatic pedestrian sliding and swinging doors, electric and manual locking hardware. Wood, metal and glass doors etc…so I need a lot of different tools and materials. I started with the dewalt 3 drawer toughsystem 2.0 storage unit which was a lot more expensive but of course much bigger. But I still needed just a little more storage so bought 2 of these less expensive large single drawer tstak’s and also the dewalt adapter plate (only $25 on eBay) to connect the two different systems together. Looks really cool stacked on each other. Even got some compliments from other tradesmen. The drawers open really nice and smooth and lock automatically into place when closed so they won’t fly open on their own if you accidentally tilt them. The single drawer unit holds quite a bit. For reference you can fit a drill and an impact in it and still have little room left for loose drill bits and such. Now of course I’ve only had the tstaks for less than a month and I’ve had the three drawer toughsystem unit for two months. So far the toughsystem hasn’t had any issues but of course that’s meant to be the upgraded newer version of the tstak. I have heard some complaints about the tstak such as the drawers on the three drawer version rubbing on each other after a while, but I’m assuming people are over weighing them down. Also, I can see the plastic tabs that are used to attach the units on top of each other probably breaking off after a while especially if you are constantly separating the units and reconnecting them, which I don’t really do that much, but you can buy those separately here on Amazon for just a few bucks. I figure if you take good care of your stuff it should last a good long time and also these things are only 34 bucks right now and you really can’t beat that. I’m definitely buying a third one.

Well priced, Dewalt quality.
Better than I expected! Came overnight, and was a better price than local big box stores (10.00 less). Put it on top of my “Tough-box 2.0” setup (with adapter plate I already had). It comes with an assortment of containers (bins) that I likely will use separately from the drawers. The drawer is huge and can fit at least two drills (with room for more). It opens very smoothly and looks to be well constructed (time will tell). The drawer locks shut and has a handle to take in the go! At first look I would recommend it especially for the price.
