āSurprisingly, youāve been the best kind of heartache, Jason Thorn.ā
"She was so full of life and had the most beautiful, captivating green eyes. So rich and alive. The kind that you looked at and let yourself happily drown in."Ella Maise has never disappointed me when it comes to giving the best serve in the romance genre and I can admit that she writes the best slowburn. (and so does Mariana Zapata) Those two are my favourites and I can blindly pick up anything they write without reading it's blurb. The book had such good tropes like brother's friend, childhood friends to lovers, slowburn, fake dating and marriage of convenience, and they made the book such a delight to read!āIām sorry for breaking your heart, sweetheart. I never meant to hurt any of you.āOlive Taylor had been seven years old when she met Jason Thorn, her twelve year old brother's best friend. Since then, Olive was pretty much enamored with him and always tried to keep his attention. Jason became a part of Olive's little family and they grew closer but seven years later, a sudden tragedy strikes which causes Jason to move to LA away from her. They lose connection but fast-forward eight years later, Olive is a famous writer and her book is being adapted into a movie, and that's when Jason stumbles back into her life. Initially, Olive was a bit reluctant to let him in but Jason was having none of that. Apparently, he was being roped in to play the male lead in her movie and a chance encounter in a parking lot lands them to be a gossip topic for the tabloids. Considering Jason's reputation his PR team suggest him to get a contract marriage and Olive just happened to be perfect to fit into his fake wife's role."I wanted to own those secret smiles just as much I wanted to own her beautiful heart. I wanted to be the reason for their existence."The book was a lot steamier than what I was expecting. It was a slowburn and the tension between them was killing me untill 65%. After that, it got a lot more interesting. At some parts (especially during the photoshoot) Jason & Olive left me breathless with the amount of sorching heat and extreme tension. They were just so cute, hot and perfect together. I felt giddy whenever Jason called Olive his "wife"."Right at that moment, he was just mine. My dream boy. My childhood crush. My first love. My only love."Seriously, the amount of butterflies this book has given me is no joke. I could practically feel the sparks and connection between Jason & Olive. I was so intrigued by Lucy she was so hilarious and entertaining (Olive's bestfriend) and considering her book is next, I'm definitely going to give it a read. Overall, if you like the tropes, I think there's a 99.9% chance that you are going to love the hel out of this book, just like me!

Dramy
A fairy tale love story of love at first sight, being heartbroken than getting a second chance. Jason was Olive first love whom she proposed at the age of six. But circumstances pull them apart. But what a coincidence that he became the hero of a movie based on her book little did he know that it was actually him who inspired that character.. be ready for lots of drama and the reunion of two lovestruck friends...

It's good but Adam Connor is better
I really liked the book, especially the scene where kid Olive proposes kid Jason! It's so so sweet!! But after that, I personally like the book on Adam Connor by the same author more than this one.

The starting was great and overall a good read
The starting was great and overall a good read. But the climax left room for improvement. However I loved it. Thanks for the time I spent with this book.

Funny and steamy romance š
Title: To Love Jason ThornAuthor: Ella MaiseHero/Heroine: Jason and OliveTrope: Marriage of ConvenienceTHE GOOD šThe one thing youāre always guaranteed with an Ella Maise book is great main characters that always have a crap ton of chemistry, and Jason and Olive were no exception.Olive, our wonderfully kooky heroine, has had a crush on Jason since she was eight years old. With him being her brothers best friend it wasnāt exactly the most ideal situation, and when he inadvertently breaks her heart, Olive is determined to get over him. Fast forward a few years later and Jason is a big time actor with a pretty sordid personal life, and Olive has graduated college and is about to sell the movie rights to the book that she has spent the last few years writing. When these two unexpectedly meet back up, itās pretty much fireworks from the off.I loved the character of Olive, she was so down to earth and real, you could tell straight away how deep her feelings for Jason went. I have to admit that I didnāt really warm up to Jason straight away, however the more the story progressed, the more I came to love our dirty talking hero. These two had some pretty explosive chemistry, so much so that I felt myself looking around after reading some of the scenes to see if anyone could tell what I was reading... which is pointless considering I live on my own, but still. From misunderstandings in their youth to dealing with everything that comes with loving a movie star, To Love Jason Thorn was a gorgeously funny read from start to finish.THE BAD šOliveās roommate Charlotte and her friend Lily, talk about twisted, would like to have seen them get their comeuppance after the whole scene at Jasonās friends club (youāll have to read the book to find out cos no spoilers).OVERALL THOUGHTS: A funny yet steamy feel good romanceSTEAM LEVEL: š„š„š„š„STAR RATING: āļøāļøāļøāļøš«

Very questionable treatment of consent
At one point because she is too drunk to have sex with he pleasures her with his digit's, as if by not getting off himself he negates requiring consent. Like Jason, I didn't finish, but at the point I gave up she didn't know this had even happened. She's no better... She puts a condom on him while he sleeps and starts having sex with himI don't expect characters to be pure as snow... But the book just wasn't good either, so there was nothing to distract from very questionable behaviour from our main characters.

Such a fun read
I really love this book, it was really fast paced and I loved Olive and Jason I think their chemistry was amazing! It was only that sometimes her inner dialogue felt a little juvenile but a really fun and sexy book to read!
