Unbelievable product, incredibly fast delivery
I looked and looked here at Amazon for the Tipton Snap Caps to go on sale - paying $16.34 just seemed nuts to me. Just three days ago, I looked and they were marked down to $7.94 for the box of five 9mm Luger. A whopping 50%+ off and I ordered two boxes. Returning often to Amazon has great rewards to a savvy shopper, something I believe Amazon smartly uses to keep us returning. The Tipton 9mm Luger snap caps came today, just 3 days after ordering, actually I believe I ordered very late in the evening, so 2.25 days is more realistic. I always look for a week or two at Amazon, the prices do vary greatly from day to day on many products. As I look now, the Snap Caps I bought 3 days ago for $7.94 are $16.34 - seriously, if you don't need it this minute, wait and catch a one day mark-down, I got 10 snap caps for the price of 5. BRAVO on the very fast delivery too, from Knoxville, TN to NJ is NOT a hop, skip and jump away and I chose regular delivery, nothing faster. As for the Tipton Snap Caps, wow! Very cool indeed. Dry firing your weapons is a great way to keep sharp, whether loading, firing, swapping magazines, racking the slide, practicing for failure to feed, failure to fire or any other motions you want to practice. Even at the range, have someone load your magazines for you and place random snap caps among live rounds to practice expelling a bad round and racking a new one. We all know any rim-fire guns should never be dry fired, and sadly I see poor reviews for the Tipton 22lr snap caps, but most center fire guns can dry fire without harm, but in the same thought, why risk the chance of slamming your firing pin against nothing when you can fire it with these beauties? There is no mistaking them for live rounds, they are brilliantly made. I can see a box will last a very long time. I have seen on Youtube people with concerns whether a well used snap cap will indent deep enough in the brass that it will be useless as a way to have your firing pin hit against it - but in reply I saw a Youtuber showing how the indent in the primer area was not all that happened, the spring also gave way to the force of the firing pin, so the indent PLUS the inward motion of the primer spring absorbed the force of the firing pin, thus only leaving a given dent into the snap cap primer area - better put, even after a thousand dry fires, the divot in the snap cap primer still contacted the firing pin as the snap cap spring absorbed the additional force of the firing pin. So whether it is to see if your firing pin is centered, or practice all your steps at handling your firearm, I believe these will do the job BETTER than any other snap cap you can buy. Great product, fast service and awesome price - can't ask for anything better.

Robust and durable
These are really good and durable. I use them to train for clearing malfunctions. They get manually ejected, and hit the floor. Sometimes I step on them, but they load right back up in the mag for more abuse. This one pack will last a long time. By the way, I had purchased a different brand of snap caps (from a brick and mortar sporting goods store) and they didn't last very long at all. I lost one at the range, and I broke one. This compelled me to try these Tipton Snap Caps, and I'm glad that I did. Update: still impressed with these snap caps. Found an additional plus. The place where the firing pin hits the snap cap is brass and the firing pin leaves a dimple in the primer area. This gives you a good idea if the firing pin is aligned with cartridge primers and whether the pin is striking the primer with a solid hit. Function testing in a 9mm AR that I'm building gives me good feedback that the build is correct and the rifle is functioning without having to live fire. After 3 months of use, these snap caps are still working great and still providing multiple value. I use them to also train to clear FTF malfunctions. I have someone else load the magazine with one or two of these mixed in. Amazing to see your self flinch expecting the weapon to fire and it doesn't. Helps a lot with trigger control discipline.

Quality Training Rounds for 9mm Practice
Specifications & Compatibility These training rounds are designed to closely replicate 9mm×19 ammunition dimensions, though they are marginally smaller than actual cartridges. They load smoothly into standard magazines and function properly with your pistol's extractor mechanism. Design & Safety Features Excellent primer mechanism: The standout feature is the spring-loaded false primer that retracts slightly within the casing when struck by the firing pin. This design provides realistic feedback while protecting your firing pin from damage during dry fire practice. Clear visual distinction: There's no risk of confusing these with live ammunition if they get mixed in with your regular rounds - an important safety consideration for any training ammunition. Training Applications These rounds excel in two key training scenarios: Dry fire practice: Allows safe training with a round chambered, providing more realistic handling experience Malfunction drills: When randomly loaded with live ammunition at the range, they create realistic misfeed scenarios for practice Build Quality & Value Premium materials: Constructed with brass casings and plastic components, avoiding the aluminum construction used by some competitors that has reportedly caused durability issues. Price consideration: These cost more than some alternatives, but the superior materials and thoughtful design justify the premium. Long-term Assessment While I haven't experienced any of the reliability problems reported with aluminum-cased competitors, only extended use will reveal the true longevity of these brass-constructed training rounds. Bottom Line Well-engineered training ammunition that provides realistic function and feedback for serious practice. The spring-loaded primer design and quality construction make these worth the extra cost for dedicated training. Recommended for: Shooters serious about dry fire practice and malfunction training who want reliable, well-built training ammunition.

Decent quality. Construction material appears good. Feeds and works well.
Good quality. Feed and work well for dry firing. 32acp The plastic material that they're made out of appear to be decent and expect to get several years of occasional use out of them.

Good quality, plastic seems pretty rugged.
Great to be able to practice loading and unloading the firearm, and dryfiring without being concerned. Of course these won't eject automatically from a semi automatic handgun (doing so requires an actual discharge), but they fit properly in the magazine and cycle through without issues. The brass will get scored from dry firing, as expected, but the plastic casings are sturdy and seem like they'll last a long time.

Nice fit, works great
They fit my lever action 44 mag rifle perfectly. When your firing pin hits the little copper cylinder it pushes in, then the spring pops it back in place. This is a much different concept that the usual snap caps the just have a rubber (balloon like) cover, (where the primer would be in a real shell) that the firing pin bounces off.
