I’ve made something like 10-15 bottle openers using these and am pleased with the quality (for the price). There could definitely be some improvements made like the base of the opener that rests against the handle. It isn’t perfectly circular or perfectly centered but the hardware itself is plenty strong and the finish is fairly durable. The finish gets scratched up where it actually contacts the bottle cap but every where else seems to hold up just fine.I see some other reviews mentioning that the threads are difficult to cut in which is true but is also why I just bought myself a tap. The tap doesn’t work well in softer woods like walnut but that’s an issue with the tap (and likely my lack of skill) not these openers.

For the cost, I'm not going to make a big deal of it but, the threads are not very uniform. You'll need a 1/4" drill bit and some elbow grease to get them to anchor into your wooden handle. Especially if you use hardwood like I have been doing for my openers. The threaded shaft is slightly square because this opener is molded from two pieces of metal and bonded together. It threads in and is stable in the wood but you will need some good hand strength. Again, okay for the price bit not the very good machining when they were made.

Used to make bottle openers from old bourbon barrel. No issues with getting them to thread in.

My husband says I can buy these again. They are easy to use and work with. Easy to install in a wooden handle. They are sturdy and easy to pop off soda pop bottle caps anyway, I don’t drink beer.

These work very well for turning projects

These bottle openers are good quality and very attractive once handles have been turned and attached. They make great gifts. They make good Christmas sale items.
