11 year old granddaughter is very happy with these roller skates given as a birthday gift.

Update: after 2 months of weekly skating, all comments still stand. I will reiterate the rough grommets on inside of boot are snagging the threads of the strings each time i tie them. I am going to have to use a glue or something to cover them without blocking holes. However, with the pads i put in bottom, these are very comfortable. I haven't gotten any blisters in them. I love them and get lots of comments on them. Taking into account everything I have said, I would do the same again and purchase again.Original: Considering the price, some comments may be expected.I normall wear a 9.5 shoe and 10-11 in some cowboy style boots. These were near perfect length and had plenty of height to add cushion in boot and not cramp foot.The good: i took them skating same day, they were great. Wheels spun freely and they were able to be made comfortable.Cost considerations: there is no padding in boot. I put in 3 separate shoe gel pads, one under ball of foot, one in heel through arch and another full shoe pad to prevent others from sliding. In the end, i was able to make it comfortable. I had room for 2 pairs of thick socks. I did not have blisters after my normal 2 hour skate, which i tended to get with rentals. Those shoe inserts cost $20. They did add a bit more height to the heel of my foot so my legs did tell me i was using some muscles a little different, and i notice my balance had to adjust but for the comfort of my 60-year old foot, well worth it.The material of the boot is thin. I went back and forth on wanting a padded boot, but decided i could always add layers around my ankle and could not remove from boot.The only real negative i have is the rivets on the lace holes. On the inside of the boot, they are rough. They snagged the laces the first time i laced them. I will try putting fingernail polish or something to cover the rough edges, but i think i will carry an extra pair of laces in case these tear. The provided laces aren't long enough to knot and move on.The case, such as it is, came with holes or peeling spots. I point a couple out in pictures. The skates fit in with room for knee pads and a water bottle. I don't know how long it will stand up. Again. Price.These are not real leather, which the description means when it says PU leather. At my age, that expense seemed unnecessary. If you are younger and see skating in them for decades, might be worth the $$ for pricier boots. I came back to skating as a way to get in shape for spring hiking over the winter. I am only interested in the exercise, no fancy tricks or such. For me, these will be fine. If they last 5 years great. If they last 10 and i still want to skate, better.Finally, I like the light up wheels because age is truly a number. My inner girl thought they would be fun.

These skates are great for my 10 year old. I ordered her an 8.5. They are a little big but I put a insert in the skate and work perfectly with some room to grow. They are pretty purple and light up. I would definitely recommend

I really like my skates. They're not too heavy and the wheels did excellent on a new skating rink floor. I was afraid they would be slippery. I love the lights.
