Blu ray restoration is good.picture and sound clarity is noticeable.madmax is still remembered for its originality and execution.melgibson early days a genre which still garners applause and remakes already made .then as they say original stands out.amaZon delights.

Love this movie and have to say I never seen it look or sound so good. If you haven't bought a movie form Shout Factory (or it's Sci-fi, Horror, and Exploitation film company Scream Factory) let me tell you from the many Blu-Ray's I bought from them that their products are top notch. They take great care in delivering high quality DVDs and Blu-Rays for many TV shows and movies you can't get anywhere else or in the case of Mad Max with the kind of care they put in to their products. As mentioned before the picture and sound quality are outstanding, not to mention the new cover art looks amazing. It is a little on the light side when it comes to extras but then again this was low budget movie from 1979. Even so, what they do have is pretty good. Over all I have to say if your a fan of the Mad Max series this is a great buy and if your having trouble finding a movie or TV show I suggest you check out what else Shout Factory has to offer. You might just find that one you were looking for or if your lucky the one you forgot all about. Now as for the film it's self, Mad Max takes place in a world barely holding on to civilization as roaming gangs are wreaking havoc on the roads. the young Max Rockatansky (Awesome name) is a patrol car policeman trying to take down these gangs. now without giving to much of the plot away I should say again this movie is from 1979 so it's not a fast burning movie. Not to say it doesn't have action, in fact there are some of the craziest stunts I've ever seen in this movie, including one where a guy goes flying off a bike that's just crazy. But after the beginning chase it slows down a bit which is made more obvious with the fact there is little in terms of a score but over all it's a great flick. Another thing is unlike the other Mad Max movies this is a revenge film which were popular in the 70's where as the next films are more about redemption. So if all that sounds good to you (it does to me) I highly recommend you give it a watch if only to see where Max Rockatansky's journey all started and how he became the man that can survive in the apocalypse.
