The bag was very fresh. Darker roast, with a definite sheen of oil on the beans. I ground to a medium size (a bit smaller than Kosher salt size), and used a Hario V60 to brew. Used 21g of coffee to 350mg of water at about 207F degrees. No bitterness from my cup. Flavors weren't as complex as my usual brands of choice (I generally go for medium roasts), but good taste with a very slight acidity. Development of flavors did progress as the cup cooled while drinking over time, and were enjoyable. The taste wasn't your typical dark roast taste, so if you prefer darker roasts, you may want to try this as a unique take to that spectrum. I can't say anything as to the caffeine content, as I drink coffee more for flavor than a boost. I suspect this bean may need a slightly lower water temp, so my next brew will probably be closer to the 200F mark.I enjoyed it, and glad I gave it a try. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Good Stuff! *by ***Y on Reviewed in the United States on March 25, 2017* Presentation is an A+! and I love the cup...The coffee is very good and a premium bean for sure...It's not super bold by any means; it's more of a middle of the road flavor....it's a very smooth cup.... ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Ok, but overrated *by N***K on Reviewed in the United States on January 22, 2017* Slightly over roasted leading to some mild bitterness other than that though it's a pretty average premium coffee bean.
