Great interest starter
My class really understood how trees disappeared and left the animals with no homes. The visuals in this book are great!

Great illustrations
Really good book. Only oddity is its written from most difficult to easiest, but that’s obviously because of the moral of the book is thinning habitats.

My granddaughter loved it, so I bought one for her
I saw this book at our local public library toddler time. My granddaughter loved it, so I bought one for her. She loves animals, especially elephants, and the zoo, so this was a perfect book to introduce the issues of loss of animal habitat and the need for us to preserve areas for animals to live in the wild.

Where’s the elephant
A wordless book has never spoken so loudly. Beautiful illustrations.

More than a “find” book
Lovely illustrations that achieved something remarkable with astonishing simplicity.Yes, you do look for a few animals on every page of this nearly wordless book. But in only a few page turns, it quickly becomes a story about deforestation. One that even my three-year-old picked up on (not a topic we had visited before). It does not offer a lot of seek-and-find value for an older child, but my older kids loved the book, none-the-less for the message it shares.

Beautiful wordless seek and find book
This is a gorgeous wordless seek and find book that is a great jumping off point for discussing habitat loss and deforestation.

A big hit with my toddler
My 18 month old is obsessed with this book, we read it for hours every day. There are no words, just a Where's Wally style hunt for the elephant, parrot and snake. The book also addressed the theme of deforestation and urbanization that I look forward to be able to discuss when he's older - there is definite longevity with this book. We received it as a gift and already plan to buy it as a gift for others as it's been such a hit.

not really a "find" book
This is more about deforestation than the find book for kids I was looking for.

Amazing book
We all love this book. The story is told through the illustrations, which are both lovely and powerful. Our whole family loves this book, especially my two year old daughter who got it for her birthday. She loves finding the animals. At the age of two, the concept of what is happening to animals is hard to grasp but we talk about it and she’s starting to ask questions. I would definitely recommend it. I have bought this book for my friends’ children who also rave about the book.

Great but not for the very young
A beautifully illustrated book that confronts an important topic. I bought it as a gift for a four year old, but having leafed through it I realise now it's really for the over sixes. I can imagine younger children feeling sad as bit by bit the animals lose their home and shelter, even though it ends on a hopeful note.
