Works great on G01 2019 BMW X3
If you have a newer G01 X3 this is the one you're looking for. Worked perfectly and the install was fairly easy with a few hiccups.I have the larger head unit with wifi and the box still fit underneath. It's a tight fit but it works and doesn't rattle.Pay close attention to the direction of the cables in the diagram and which switches should be in the on position. I had originally flipped the wrong ones and it resulted in a black screen.Notes:You need the Aux cable and the wifi antenna plugged in. If you have only one USB port and no aux in your car you'll lose your only USB port by using the adapter that's included, so keep that in mind. If you don't have that cable plugged in the audio won't work, even through regular Bluetooth. At least in my 2019 X3, I couldn't see a way to route this in the glovebox. The original display cable that goes from the head unit to the box is too short. Both Android Auto and Apple Carplay work perfectly. Connects automatically on start up, and hasn't disconnected on me.Super satisfied and the price is right.

Now I have carplay
BMW X3 2018 did not come with carplay capabilities. This kit does the trick. I like that it fits within the console since I hate having things attached to my dashboard. I had the unit installed at a shop which took 2 hrs. System works pretty well but does glitch a bit. Projects well onto original BMW screen.I like that I have access to my iphone apps on a bigger screen. allows to switch between BMW interphase and carplay.

Works, lots of issues.
The product worked with lots of flaws, especially the audio throught the unit lowered quality very noticeably. Sometimes it only sounded through half the stereo. After talking with their customer service (they answered, every other day) I got an update for the unit, sound now works as OEM but I can't receive phone calls. I'd rather have the android auto than phone calls, but it's still an issue that you have to give up such a basic function for it to work. Tried wired and wireless and it's still an issue.

THANK YOU! I have Android Auto on my GR Supra!
Works just as advertised and even sound better than my stock player. The stock UI is very basic compared to the other brand that is 2x the price but it's a one button press and you never see it again. Wireless android auto is horrible but this is on Google and not the manufacturer. When it did work it was awesome. Running on cable is flawless. No lag or hiccups.Be sure to slowly switch back and forth from the Android Auto to the UI screen (not the stock UI). I had an instance where the screen was just black and did not respond to anything. A quick power off of the car and on again cleared the problem. I have not been able to reproduce it since. I wish it was USB-C instead of USB-A but I plugged in a 6in USB-A (male) to USB-C (female) and tucked the original back in the dash. I also with there was a way to tap into the stock USB and be rid of the dongle.****Update: after Android Auto's recent update, my unit now hangs/crashes if I have the map open on the main portion. If it's on the side it's ok. Not sure if this is a compatibly issue or is the unit is kaput****

Wrong Head Unit
Bought this last fall and waited until this week to install. My mistake; It didn't work right and I can no longer return it. The wired android auto worked but it stopped several of my BMW iDrive functions from working and I now have a $300 piece of electronic junk to recycle. My iDrive would no longer provide driving info i.e. trip computer. The fuel finder built into my nav system would no longer work. The chime alarm that indicates my convertible top movement was completed quit sounding off. The speed alarm could no longer be set or used. All of these iDrive feature returned to normal after I removed the Road Top parts. I should have guessed that they had sent the wrong head unit as it was not identical to the pictures on their (Road Top) web site. Too bad I didn't see their web site before I bought it.

Exceeds Expectations!
Installed this in my 2018 BMW 330e with the base ID6 unit. I did not expect integration to be great, but I was pleasantly surprised. Someone clearly put a lot of thought and effort into making this as good as it could possibly be.Right out of the box, some things that impress me are:- Unit detects when the backup camera is active and switches to the OEM display so it can be shown, and switches back when done- Steering wheel scroll knob works to navigate, even when the manual says it doesn't- Unit must use BMW's brightness sensor, because the screen autodarkens depending on the light level (even when the BMW one doesn't!)Aside from all that, the sound quality seems to be just as good as using Bluetooth directly with the OEM unit so no complaints there. However, I would recommend only using EQ settings with the BMW menu or the new options, not both. Also, volume control is still done entirely through the BMW unit. I prefer this because it means the output amp volume is still what's being adjusted, but it does mean that when the carplay screen is showing, there's no display that shows the current volume. Not a big issue, but something to be aware of. All of the usual volume controls still work though.Connectivity is very good in my experience. The screen defaults to the OEM display until a device is connected, which happens pretty fast. My only real complaint is that Android Auto is not great to navigate with only physical controls, it's really designed for a touchscreen. Not a fault of the unit, but something to be aware of. You need to turn, press, and tilt the center knob along with use the back button to actually do everything. It's not very intuitive, but that's just something that can be worked around with practice. Everything is still accessible at least.
