Amazon search engine just wants to sell you anything so it ignores your filtering keywords no matter how I tried, then it used bait-n-switch (see end of review). In a nutshell review of the product: constantly reposition the contact area and wash it after each use and it may work well enough. I wanted something to replace the one I have that is a thin suede or chamois-like microfiber cloth that has a little “grab” - not satin slick and micro-plushy. This product’s material is more like a woman’s dress material than a suede/chamois-like texture. I hand-washed it and after it dried it was no different. I like that it doesn’t have a bunch of logo ink on it. That was one of my priorities to be able to use the entire cloth. It’s quite stretchy in one direction (a bit too stretchy) but not stretchy in the other. The bias direction is reasonably stable. To put it to test on something other than my classical guitar, I tried it on a dusty object and it did a reasonable job of picking up light dust with a couple of passes. It wiped smudges off my tablet screen and eye glasses if you push it firmly and only in one direction and keep readjusting the cloth - mostly just smears it if you are wiping in both directions and it is hard to control to go in multiple direction changes. So, obviously the slickness doesn’t create sufficient surface area per centimeter to handle big areas and you need to constantly readjust the contact surface. I did spatter it with some drops of water and it absorbs it readily. Didn’t try with polish. You’ll want to wash it after every use. I did put one in with my guitar because it works well enough but you might want to put in all 6 to have a clean one handy each time. I was looking for one more like the one I am using currently that is just as soft/thin but more “grippy” and suede-like instead of silky and plush; so used filter words in my search. I originally was attempting to purchase this seller’s trumpet wipes that someone claimed chamois-like in a review description, and incidentally were a few dollars cheaper but the description matched my criteria better. Amazon or the seller said it was unavailable when I tried to complete the purchase (seller do this.?) and recommended the violin wipes (a few dollars more).. I fell for it.. Not what I wanted. Not happy about the bait-n-switch.

Bought it for my violin. Seems like a great product, like it will pick up the rosin from my instrument.The feel is nice and kind of velvety and each cloth is individually wrapped in a plastic bag.I was expecting them to come on an envelope or box, but they came in the clear plastic bag, which made me suspicious that my mom had opened my package and threw away the box lol they just slapped the shipping label right on it 😂

I keep one in every guitar, bass and violin case to wipe down down with after playing. Also in a zip bag with polish, string cleaner, etc. I have ordered them before and they hold up well!

Used for guitar strings with string glide oil. Works very well does not damage the instrument and is thin enough to easily slide under the strings.
