Can't Stop The Show: The Return of KIX

A great DVD!
As a longtime Kix fan, this was a great watch. The interviews and the behind the scenes footage held my attention from the beginning to the end. It was interesting to see the process as the band jumped back into creating new material after two decades. For those who have the "Live in Baltimore" DVD, the video quality of the concert footage on this is DVD is SO much better (maybe the next one will be blu-ray??). The icing on the cake for me was that the majority of the concert footage was filmed at a show that I attended at the Leesburg Tally Ho in 2014. I wasn't exactly in the front row (photo attached).[Added 11/11/16 - I have now listened to the live CD as well. To me the sound quality is better than the two previous live Kix CDs (Live, Live in Baltimore). It includes a good mix of new and classic material.

Fuse blown
The dvd is cool and tells the story of the Kix comeback album. Fun to hear the band talk about rocking In the heyday of the 80s to rocking now some 40 years later. A Kix fun will love this documentary about one of the most underrated rock bands still going today.

I could not wait to get my hands on this!!
I could not wait for this to come out. I had heard talk of it for maybe a year or more. I was not disappointed. This has some cool interviews with fellow musicians who are also KIX fans and some industry people too. See how the album Rock Your Face Off came to be. This is more of a documentary of the making of the album than a KIX history but still well worth the price. Included are some killer live tracks on a separate cd. KIX is still going strong and doing several shows a year and the pace seems to be picking up. Still a great live band and the entertain you and put out 110% every show.

Great music, great documentary
I’d forgotten what a fun band Kix is. It’s always nice seeing and hearing about the recording side of things, too. Great music, great documentary.

A documentary that will rock your socks!
So this band, these rockers, have been doing it for more than 30 years. Doing what? Rocking. Hard. The metal you loved in the 80s was somehow recreated in 2015 after a 20 year hiatus, staying true to their roots and breathing new life into their catalog of hits. This documentary gives fans band insights that are honest and insightful and truly gets behind the scenes of making a rock album. The director steps aside completely and gives you, the fan, the POV experience really making it feel as though you're in the room. This is a great movie for all fans of rock 'n roll.

This is a great "making of" documentary
This is a great "making of" documentary. I expected for of an overall history documentary, but this is great nonetheless. The interviews are thoughtful and well done. Lots of cool live footage too! The accompanying live CD is just great! It has a nice mix of new stuff and classics. It all looks and sounds very nice.

Kix are for Kids? Kix are for Everyone!!
Is it a DVD? Is it a CD? Yeah, yeah, yeah it's both.It was unbelievable to have Kix deliver an albums worth of new material a couple of years back and for it to be so strong like they hadn't missed a beat in 19 years just picking up where they left off. Now here's the documentary detailing the inception and subsequent recording of the album. It's a cool documentary with people like Nuno Bettencourt, Shannon Larkin, Lzzy Hale, Taylor Rhodes, Jamie St James amongst other luminaries extolling the virtues of the band. The band themselves come across as...well themselves, no false personas just real nice guys. I was lucky enough to see the band in the UK at Edwards No. 8 club in Birmingham and can attest to their friendliness - that night they played their hearts out (even though Brian or was it Ronnie...jeez my memory.. was full of flu and threw up behind the amps) and made time for the people who had come out to see them, Steve W at the time while not singing during a guitar solo bending down from the stage to ask where I got my Kix shirt from that I was wearing at the time. The footage is pretty cool as are the interviews it's not overlong to the point where it becomes boring (as if it would...it could run 3 hours and I'd just get more popcorn) clocking in at around 70 minutes. On top of that in the extras are the interviews with Nuno, Lzzy, Taylor in full where bits that were cut out of the final documentary can be seen. Then there's a collection of Steve Whiteman wisecracks from stage ...which is great for a guy who once compiled a C90 tape of all the raps he did from various cassettes I have/had of Kix performing Yeah, Yeah, Yeah...if you're a fan you'll know what I mean. Plus there's a bunch of live videos and stuff as well. Then there's the accompanying CD, Kix live again this time featuring plenty of tracks from Rock Your Face Off. Then on top of that you get a sticker...I tell ya WHAT MORE COULD A KIX FAN WANT ???? Except maybe a free ticket to a few UK dates.
