Decent Grip for the Money
Edit: The new grip is holding up well after a lot of rough use for the price you cant beat them. The added battery capacity make a huge difference, would definitely recommend especially for those on a budget.Edit: Had to exchange noticed 1 battery terminal for the AA battery holder was missing, it holds six batteries so wont work without it. Other than that still a decent grip for the money.I bought this mainly to increase battery capacity on my 6D since I have a couple big lenses and use the WiFi for remote shooting etc., and anyone with the 6D knows the GPS will mow through batteries as well. The one thing I do not do often is shoot vertical with it. I have tested the grip vertical of course and it works fine. All the buttons feel good and the dial works as it should, and yes the "Off On" is to toggle the grip controls. While it is enabled all the buttons on the Camera body still work as they should.None of the negatives I have read about this grip apply to the device I received, so far anyway.I say that because some have written it worked fine then developed issues. I bought it around the holidays (before turkey day) so the return period is extended till end of January, hopefully will not matter. The fit is good to the body no gaps and the battery tray is secure with no play as well, I would like the battery bay latch to lock a bit more securely but I do not believe it will be much of an issue.I would say it is fairly wide grip, I have big hands so that works for me. With the batteries installed feels good and solid as well. The thing I don't really care for is the texture of the rubber. I do not mean the texture pattern but the actual feel of the rubber. It feels a bit slippery and is a bit shinier than the 6D, it is not as shiny like the product pics though which is a real good thing. For the most part it is a pretty good match color and pattern wise.I debated going with the more costly grips primarily the Vello but in my experience with other items I have purchased from them it would be at around the same level as this one (and probably from the same Chinese factory!)If I were doing a lot of vertical portrait shooting etc. I would probably close my eyes while clicking the purchase button on the Canon grip, but I don't all I really need is the extra capacity and I think this will do just fine.

feels great in my hands. quality seems very good
*** 6/6/13 UPDATE***Everything i had hoped for with this grip has come true. I love it and it has worked flawlessly. I just can not understand why someone would spend so much more. Someone knocked it for not being strong enough to support a large lend and other geat... none of them are! and you are not going to hook it to the camera in that case you are going to use the tripod ring that came with that nice big lens... or you will be having to lift the lens up over and over because it won't be stable in that situation.***Original review***I have never owned a grip before so i don't have that experince to compare to, so take that into consideration.I recently upgraded from a Canon 40D to a 6D. I was hoping that the 6D would be a bit bigger than it actually is. that go me looking at the battery grips. I'm on a budget. that being the case i evaluate each piece that i purchase. can i find a comparable piece of equipment/lens for less? Is used a good option? so naturally when i started looking for a grip i started with the standard... the Canon grip. then everything else was compared to that. When i read the reviews of the people that had the Meike grip i was encouraged. It came packaged well... had decent instructions... but fortunately i had read the description from someone else on how to get the battery door off. it is quite easy.... once you know how. the instructions are lacking in this area. there is just a "slide" on the pin that holds the two sides in. one side moves towards the middle and then it just pops out. it is nice that they have a little holder for the door built into the stem that goes up in the battery case. that answered my question of what to do with the door. i was concerned that i may be out in the field and want to take the grip out for some reason and then not have the door with me. not that is not a concern s it will be with the camera at all times. It went together easily. just slight the stem up into the batt chamber and tighten the dial into the tripod adaptor. fits quite snuggly. no wobble. just like i imagine the Canon one would fit. the camera works perfectly. and i bought some of the STK batteries for it and now i have two complete sets. I have no idea how long i could take pictures for now...I love the way it fits in my hands. makes everything including shooting portrait easy and a joy.the only thing... and this is very slight is the color difference. and i mean really slight. and i'm just assuming the Canon one would be the same as the body because Canon made it... it in no way detracts from the looks and function at all. most people will never notice.it was a great buy at a fraction of the cost of the Canon grip!

buono

Una valida economica alternativa all'originale!

The Neewer Vertical battery grip is fair quality in comparison with the price you pay. After attaching the grip to my EOS 6D (which was very easy) I found my self holding a steady camera. Great! But... The wheel you use for attaching the grip to the camera body is the weak spot. Both under and over the wheel there is a smal gap. Is smal gap might let in moisture to the battery, when you take outdoor photos (e.g. in light rain). Besides that the quality is what you would expect (remember; 23£ is not free of charge).Inclueded in the package is a "AA" battery holder for 6 batteries (and of course one OR two canon camera batteries). The AA option is great when you travel in distant places with limited or no charging possibilities. The grip it self feels solid and works great. Yes, there might be some difference between the buttons and dials on the camera and the grip. But when you take pictures you will not take any notice. The camera gets bigger and heavier, but you also gets more controle and comfort shooting (especial great when you start using "L" glass from canon - these things are heavy).I would recommend this grip (or any other relevant grip) to any body since every body can benefit of the increased controle over the camera, and bigger and heavier license are easier managed. If you only travel with one license, this grip might be "over kill". Since the canon 6D have a very power hungry build in GPS, two batteries (or 6 AA's) will give you more time to shoot pictures rather than charging the batteries. This is great to when using the build in wifi connection (in the eos 6D).Four stars - is for a great product that do what it is suppose to, without any negative og positive surprises.
