I bought this heater for two ducklings and it works amazing. It is so easy to clean and adjust the height. This was my first time ever having day old ducklings and was very nervous about having the heater inside my home. The heater is very safe - gets warm but not hot and the ducklings have loved it and are very cozy and happy under it.

Easy to use, safe, adjustable. This brooder came well packaged and ready to put together and use. Our chicks were kept just the right temperature and as they grew, we adjusted the brooder height. When it got warmer and they were all standing of top of the brooder, we knew it was time to pull it out, pack it up for next time. Great product, did all it was supposed to - also super easy to clean!

This was the best thing for my baby chickens. Once they got a little bigger they liked to perch on it and poo all over it. It becomes very difficult to keep up with daily cleaning. So I highly recommend covering the top of this with press 'n seal making it an easy daily task to peel off and replace. The chickens basically told me when they didn't need it anymore because they eventually stopped sleeping under it by around 4-5 weeks old.I would choose this brooder heater over a heat lamp for safety. This will never make the chicks too hot and it will not be a fire hazard.You adjust the height as the chickens get taller.

Great product. Assembles in seconds. I love that it had a built in slanted position for Day 1. Maybe it is not necessary to completely imitate momma hens warm tummy but I really liked that I could set the heat plate at an angle like the hen's stomach and they could nestle all the way back. Then as they grew, I set it parallel to the ground and each week I moved it higher. It does take a while to get to full temperature. So definitely plug it in 24 hours before your chicks arrive home. I wish the power cord was longer. It won't matter if you have a power strip but it will matter if you don't or if you need to set the brooder box further away from the power strip.

I used a heat lamp in the past and I decided to try a brooder plate this time with my chicks. I'm very happy with my purchase. My chicks are very warm and happy! It was easy to setup and the adjustable sides make it easy to use as the chicks get bigger. No wearing about fires from a heat lamp, or a bulb breaking and causing injury to the chicks. I highly recommend this brooder plate if you're in the market. Just a quick update, this is a "small" brooder plate, I don't recommend it for the amount of chicks it is supposed to keep warm, 15 is a lot for this size. I have 8 and it looks full to capacity at this number.
