Dorman HW7306 Rear Parking Brake Hardware Kit Compatible with Select Jeep Models

The headline says it all; Dorman seldom disappoints DIY brake renewal for rusty parts, broken springs for fintage drum brake rear park brake components.

Almost everything in this package was a perfect match. Springs were exact, adjuster was perfect, the only problem came to the retaining spring clips to hold the shoes flush, too stiff so I reused the old clips. But all other items worked as the original. Of course it was a pain to install but that's all drum brakes so don't blame the vendor for the mechanical design of your vehicle. These went to my 2001 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited. Installed same day as I redid all my brakes and rotors.

Clips were way tougher to use (w/ link) than orig, even with an assistant. Reused old clips instead. Also, springs do not stretch at all. Must fit into brake shoe holes first, then bully them back into place w/ excess force. Check to make sure you really need to replace shoes lol (new ones are thin too)

Brake shoes are a pain in the rear to install any way you approach it. The shoe clips were smaller than the OEM ones, making them harder to install. Springs seemed like a heavier gauge than the OEM ones and were hard to install.

I used these on a 2003 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The product itself is good, no complaints. The quality seems fine and I expect it last 20 years just like the OEM. However, replacing the actual parking brake was one of the most frustrating jobs I've ever done on the Jeep. Getting the springs into the holes under all that tension... miserable. Not this product's fault though! Everything works fine now that it's installed.

Didn't match old hardware

Too generic to properly fit my 2002 Grand Cherokee Limited. Incorrect, poor fitting springs and they do not fit the brake shoes without grinding. The spring that holds shoe in place is not designed as well as the original and is much harder to install.
