Tastes and looks like molasses. There is no mulberry flavor or scent to this.

Ordered this mulberry syrup to add to a blackbird pie (blackberry pie) recipe when my online book club was reading Midnight at the Blackbird Cafe by Heather Webber. The secret ingredient in the blackbird pie mentioned in the book was mulberry syrup. Had never tasted it before but loved its tanginess. Kept the pie from being too sweet and just another blackberry pie. Delicious.

I was not sure what to expect in this syrup. It had a shrink wrap cover over the cap that was easy to remove but my husband had a heck of a time breaking the seal on the cap itself and opening it. He likes to put dark corn syrup on his cornbread so I suggested he try this. Out of the bottle, it smelled like berries and poured out easily. The color was brownish. He said it was a bit sweet for cornbread. I tried a dab of it and found that though it smelled like berries, the taste was almost malty. I am going to try it in some baking and also over ice cream.

It’s been advertised as a syrup but in reality it’s a molasses and it doesn’t taste like the flavor it been sold under

I was excited to try this syrup, but when it arrived, I could NOT open it. Granted I'm a woman, but not exactly a wimp, I passed it off to a super strong teen. He lifts weights and regularly handles 200+ pound pieces of wood for his job. He couldn't open it. We tried screwing it off, pulling, prying, all to no avail. Half an hour later and with the help of a flat screwdriver, we FINALLY managed to open it.After all that work, our house is split 50/50 on whether they like it or not.I am not sure if our bottle/cap was somehow defective, or if the syrup somehow glued it shut, or what, but I wouldn't recommend ordering until that issue is resolved.
