And, finally, we use a third recipe from a mix that only requires the addition of water. Making all three recipes and reading the ingredients list of the two mixes, we can talk about how foods are processed, hydrated, dehydrated, etc. This book educates people of all ages. And little kids will love the tabs that help them "make" pancake batter and cook it while reading the book!

Fun toddler book
This is my daughter enjoys this book. It is interactive and fun for toddlers who can focus. The book engages them by having them open, pull, tug, spin, and mix the ingredients to make pancakes!

Love but one con
I love this series and it’s one of my 1 year old’s favorite books. He loves interactive books so these series of books packs a variety of different interactivity you don’t quite get from other books. For some reason, the pancake one specifically seems to be his favorite right now. He’ll push all the others aside for this one. My only con is there are 2 pages for an interactive pancake to go, but only one pancake. It made me think there was a mistake but the description says one pancake to put on both pages and the photos show one pancake. It’s odd to take one pancake from one area of the page and then put it on the other side based on the “commands.” The second page even says “when both sides are brown, put it on the plate.” And technically, the “interactive pancake” is “bubbly and undercooked” on one side and brown on the other, as the first page with the pancake does say to “flip when bubbles form.” So, might be picky, but I just wish there was a specialized pancake per each page. The cookie book even has 2 interactive cookies, so I felt 2 pancakes wouldn’t have been a big lift. Because then after you put the pancake on the plate on the next page you have to go put it back on the skillet to have it for the next reading. I feel silly bringing this up but having read this book over 50 times with my toddler, it really upsets the flow. We start to read and I get to the page and I have to tell him “oh wait.” And then have to flip the page and go get the pancake on the plate to put on the skillet. Other than that, I really really enjoy these books. They make me and my 1 year old happy!

Not bad
Very cute idea. The book wasn’t quite as interactive as I would have thought. There are a few tabs to pull and spinners to twirl.

A favorite
My son LOVES this series. He wanted this one for a while and it didn’t disappoint. I love that we can expand his knowledge of ingredients and kitchen tools while having fun with the interactive aspects of this book and then bring all that over to the kitchen to make the recipes. Really fun.

Fun interactive book
Simple and fun interactive book for littles. I think this book will grow with us as we can use it as a recipe book when my kids get older. I can’t imagine the removable pancake lasting a long time. Wish it came with extra pancakes in case the one gets lost.

We LOVE these!
We absolutely love these!!! They bring interest in cooking without any of the mess or intimidation of “yucky” ingredients for the kids. They love reading them! #1 book of the Christmas season for my kids!! PLEASE MAKE MORE!!! We’ll buy them all!!!!
