Fun and addictive time-sink
I haven't played Tropico since the first one came out, so I wasn't sure what to expect from this one. Turns out it's far more fun and involved than other Sims I've played since then, and it sucked away far too many hours the first weekend I got it. PS4 controls are surprisingly intuitive, and actually a lot easier to remember than the old PC version I played before. Graphics are detailed and crisp, music is tolerable (I turned it off after a while - too repetitive), and there are plenty of options for how to play.I started with the tutorial and scenarios, which were all very well written and which introduced concepts at a good pace. Then I moved over to sandbox mode, which I usually prefer in Sims. I like that you can set your own victory conditions in addition to starting conditions, so you can decide how you want to focus from the get-go. Even playing 10+ sandbox games, the game has continually thrown new challenges at me at different points in the game. Not just the usual natural disasters, like SimCity, but also pirate invasions, invasion by angry Allies (or Axis), or revolutions when I jail/banish/kill too many crime lords or rebels at once.I've only encountered one bug so far, when my saved game got wiped during a force close. But I suspect that was a PS4 issue and not a Tropico issue, and I'm more careful about closing the application when I put the PS4 to sleep - no more problem. The only quibble I'd have with this game is that there's so much to it, it's a lot to learn and absorb. But since that's part of what makes it so fun for me, I can't really complain. It's just not a simple game to pick up and play for a couple of hours, then put away for a month - it's much more one of those "I'm sitting down for a serious gaming session and don't intend to shower or eat for the next while" types of games. Highly recommended when you need to zone out for a big chunk of time.

False advertising
Ordered this item, said it was new, but wasn't wrapped and no pamphlet. So at this point I'm inclined to say it was used.

A fine port for PS4.
Played the series on PC since Tropico 2 Pirates cove. Liked Tropico 3 and 4 fine on PC. Didn't feel that Tropico 5 was different enough to justify an early purchase. Still feel that getting on PC would have been redundant (having Tropico 3 & 4 already). But appreciated the option to get it on PS4.Rented the game before purchasing to see how the control were on PS4 compared to PC. Wasn't a big issue. Ledgers and such are easy to use, all you lose is some of the precision in clicking (e.g. trying to click on a specific citizen or individual shack). The game is streamlined a bit compared to older titles. For example the ledger just has number of citizens in each class instead of icons you can click on to zoom to that particular person.Citizens that hold specials roles (crime lord, faction leader) carry icons above their heads as they walk around. I think this is the only way to find them, as the ledger doesn't seem to link to them in any way.Compared to earlier titles you are much more likely to get invaded. Also in the main campaign you keep using the same two cities again and again. This means if during the first mission you get your city set up really nicely before completing it, you will have all that in come and happiness at the start of a later mission on that same island. Which can make certain steps in the process of completing later missions trivial.

My favorite game on PS4
There are many moving parts to the operation of the game, and not as a detailed building as Command and Conquer, but allows the user to control the economy, politics, military, and diplomacy. Well worth the cost for what you get.

Limited but Good day.
So, am disappointed to how limited I am in this game. This is my first time ever with Tropico series, I saw the trailer for Tropico 6 and i as amazed. I understand the difference between both games. Nonetheless, I love this game and I cannot wait to play Tropico 6

Alright game. Kinda repetitive after a while. Horrible price, not worth it. Just get the normal edition.
