Seems to work well
Trimmed per instructions and SWR is 1.2 centered and well above and below the GMRS band. Surprisingly large band width!!

Awesome
Excellent Anten I wish I would’ve bought this to begin with. I’ve tried five different antennas. I could not match them. This one came right out of the box with a 1.1 match for GMRS I will probably buy one more for a spare quality

Great GMRS Antenna
As the owner of the NILES 725 (Michigan) GMRS repeater station & also a big fan of 1/4 wave uhf antennas - Thought I would give this 5/8 wave a try. Generally, it is always a toss up between a 1/4 wave & 5/8 wave for best performance & range with varying terrains.Wow - This antenna works amazing. Trimmed to 465 MHz length according to chart provided, & obtained a SWR of 1.03 across the GMRS band on a mag mount. I gained 8 miles plus on the average range on the NILES 725, & it has a large footprint. (500 ft HAAT)Best GMRS antenna for range, urban, extremely hilly terrain & good / bad "band opening" communication days.Good StuffWRXL 702......

Seems to tune well for GMRS
Got this antenna and put it right onto a ground plane kit and Nano VNA. It showed it was tuned well for 440/450mhz. I cut it down a bit and it tuned right up for GMRS use. I split the difference between repeater input and output frequencies of 467 and 462mhz. It covered the spectrum with no issues. You can see the Nano VNA is showing an SWR of 1.03 at 467.600 MHz. I worked up to the cut for the antenna size but it came out nearly exactly to what the included cutting guide said. If you don't have an SWR meter, just cut it to the suggested size and it appears it will be very very close.I did a quick test with it using a Vertex VX231 UHF radio set on 1 watt. I used a TRAM Mag Mount that had about 16 feet of RG58 leading to it from the VX231. I swapped between this antenna and a TRAM 1126 which also has a very low SWR at GMRS frequencies.I drove to an area where the repeater was only a few miles away but heavily obstructed by a ridge line. The repeater was about 1500 feet in elevation. The Browning BR176 antenna cleared up the signal a *slight* bit when compared to the Tram 1126 1/4 wave. The Browning BR176 antenna seems to improve you ability to be heard when you are at the fridge areas of reception. When I get a chance I will go to a much further distance from the repeater but less obstructed and see how that performs. I would expect it to be similar to my above results.

Worked great
I bought this for my Jeep Gladiator for a GMRS radio. I read countless reviews of other antenna options but this one had great reviews. Once installed, I received an swr of 1.2. I clipped about 1/8th off the bottom and received an swr of 1.01 which is where is left it. Looks great and talks excellent. Even though it has a spring, it's really stiff and won't bend easy. Due to the location of the antenna bracket, I didn't want some idiot pulling the antenna and letting it hit the rear window. The entire roof of the Gladiator is fiberglass so no issue of signal deflection. The antenna mount is from WAYALIFE.com and is an extremely solid mount for a Jeep Gladiator. The antenna coax is the Midland MXTA24. That coax was the perfect length for this install as there was a foot of length extra.Again, great antenna for GMRS with a near perfect swr as shipped.

Works well as a quick and easy go to antenna
Installed this on our car for a trip to CO. After matching the antenna to the radio I did a quick radio check and was speaking clearly to another radio 120 miles from me, great antenna for the price

good quality
Installed in our trailer setup. Was for a base station mounted in our ATV trailer for instant communication with our headsets. Love the construction and overall quality is good. Can compare to any other brands.
