I was told by an expert breeder there really is not a safe harness for gliders. It will either risk choking them or harming the pouches that allow them to glide if they are spooked and jump.

Not at all. I originally bought this for my squirrel and it did not come close to fitting around him. I dont know how it would fit a ferret. You are better off looking for something that looks more like a harness that way you can adjust it to fit the dog.
