I am pleasantly surprised by the M543. The spec does result in a fast machine which I hoped it would as I run some CPU and graphics intensive radio applications. The screen is also good and there are no problems outside in bright sunshine. Probably the only corner they have cut is with the SSD. I ordered the model with the least capacity SSD and will upgrade to faster one with high capacity and I expect that will put the icing on the cake. By the way, one of the questions I read about ethernet connection was wrongly answered: it does have ethernet connectivity as well as WiFi.

Son needed a laptop for sixth form. I bought this laptop based on spec and 3 helpful five star reviews. I am joining them with a five star review. This may be a relatively unfashionable unknown brand from China but don’t let this put you off. The laptop was securely wrapped with a few bonus items, a wired optical mouse, mouse mat, some stickers and a rubber keyboard cover. RYZEN 4500u is a 2020 CPU but it still benches at over 11k on passmark, this a fast CPU chip. The laptop comes with a solitary 8gb ddr4 stick installed there is a second memory bay that allows to add another stick to utilise the dual bandwidth. Impressed with the inclusion of a m2 drive there is also an additional drive bay for a 2.5” drive.Pedantic stuff - the laptop is plastic there has to be a compromise with this spec for £500, albeit a nice silver and black, it clips well together and feels solid with smooth edges.This laptop came with a US qwerty layout so basically “ and @ reversed, not a big deal to me just adapt keyboard settings within windows.In summary outstanding don’t let the unfashionable brand dissuade you, this laptop is a good buy 👍
