Umarex Trap-Shot BB Gun and Pellet Gun Target

The media could not be loaded. I love this target trap. It holds up to 825fps .177 rounds.I shoot a Sig Sauer Canebrake MCX rifle with RDS and laser which is quite accurate and fast. As you can see from my overcranked video from about 60 feet away (20 yards) the targets and reset work really well when hit directly. I’ve put several hundred rounds into one and left it outside on my hillside for a month and it still holds up perfectly.Yes, this is trap is small – – 7 inches wide by 5.5 inches tall. But it is great value for money. I bought two and have them side by side. you could also stack them.I’ve tried using BBs on this, and even though they do work, the ricochets can be dangerous. So I recommend pellets only!The trap comes with extra target and reset stickers which is nice. For only $20, it’s a really great value for money.

You need to read the measurements. The pictures make it look a lot bigger than it actually is I have an electric BB gun the worlds first and it really doesn’t have enough power to reset the target unless I hit the target in full auto for several shots, it’s made for a more powerful BB gun than what I have.If you have an accurate powerful BB gun, that should work fine, but it is fairly small.

I bought this product not realizing how small it actually was and was thinking about returning it. But after using it for just a few hours I found my accuracy has improved greatly and by moving it back a foot or two every session it just got better and better.... it was fun to shoot until the target reset.... its never ending. My only problem was using it indoors which isnt the targets fault but more the pellets shot at it. Hollow point lead with have lead everywhere, steel will ricochet, and pellets with bbs as the head of the projectile will also ricochet. But bottom line as an out door target from 40 yards has improved this old mans aim.

We tried this out a few times and found that it was not too great a design. Shooting 7.7 grain .177 lead pellets from a Sig P320 pellet gun at 7 meters, the pellets ricochet right back at the shooter about 40% of the time. The two outer paddles worked as designed, but the center "reset" paddle only worked once out of about 60 attempts with our gun.

This is an excellent piece of equipment for its intended purpose that being for precision shooting at an appropriate distance with the air gun used. Not for use with steel BBs only lead pellets as steel on steel will bounce back and not be caught, or plastic or high speed alloy ammo. Since it is small it should not be used to sight in but be used with a well sighted accurate rifle or pistol. At short distances 10 yards or under 500 fps should be fine over that up to around 20 yards and 8 or 900 fps.. Because of its small size any further or greater fps would be iffy as repeated missing the flip up targets will do damage to the backstop or surrounding surfaces as the flipping action of the targets dissipates much of the impact. For practice of precision shooting like headshots on small game or pests at reasonable distances this target system can’t be beat for the price. If Rambo or Gangsta shooting is your thing this product is not for you. For proper pellet retention you must adjust your fps for the distance if using an air gun like a springer that can not be adjusted your left with only adjusting the distance or changing type of pellets used.

A lot of folks are complaining about size, and durability. I shoot at 33 yards from the muzzle with two desperate break barrel .177 rifles, I use wadcutter pellets and shoot off hand mostly. I have no issue hitting the targets as long as I do my part, the wad cutters seem to be easy on the back of the unit, however it is being hit at approximately 700fps with a chunk of lead, yes it will dent, and get worse with time. Targets flip, lock and release as they should, and the target is a good size to actually improve accuracy. I hunt with my air guns so head shots on small birds and squirrels will become easier with this target to practice with.

Do not buy them especially used in any condition!I bought 3 total,two used and one new.The used ones stated in like new condition which is their highest condition rating. Used description stated w minor exterior marks to paint on side,bottom or top & the other said the item was new but the package was destroyed and would be repackaged. These used ones were only $2 cheaper than the new one.I bought all three at same time. First off they came well packed in a box and one did come in it’s own blue colored box while the other two were in the Umarex boxes which were nice.First off one of the used ones arrived and was a return missing two of its critical screws to hold a panel together and was missing the extra stickers they come with to freshen up the targets as they deteriorate and the center red target had been chipped up but repainted red over the chips.The other used one looked as though after it was put together it was laid upright on the ground and a vehicle ran over it ,canting the entire shell body to one side lowering the target window.I took it apart and tried straightening it out but still it was in terrible shape.The new one came beautiful both this and the last came w their extra stickers so I used one set to refurbish the one that came without and was obviously a return because the stickers on it were obliterated by bbs or pellets.With that said the worst part about these are yet to come!1. They’re not for Airsoft at all your bb’s will not move any of the heavy,metal targets and your bb’s will shatter every time upon impact.2. These are also not meant for 450-500 fps or under Co2 or green gas metal BB guns either.(my highest FPS pellet gun is 500fps)No matter how accurate you are the bb’s and pellets just are not heavy enough to flip up the metal targets that stick to a weak thin magnet attached to the roof of the shell.3. This one really bothered me!No matter what you use Airsoft or other the entire thing will chip away after every shot. So after your first session no matter where hit or with what it’s hit with the black and red paint will chip off leaving it so ugly looking which is why I bought them.To make a nicer looking target area for my indoor range which now I see was naive.There really isn’t anything nice I can say about these I couldn’t even return them because I bought them for my son and I as a XMAS gift for us both so the 30 days were up when Xmas past and when I finally felt they should be returned rolled around. I did call but was given no exceptions which typically isn’t like them either.If you cannot tell I def do not recommend! Hope this was helpful!
