This book is wonderful. The writer has 60 years of experience in Japanese gardening, and he explains the reason and thought process for each garden he has created in the book. The photos of the gardens are stunningly beautiful.

I love this book. Its eye candy for japanese garden lovers like me. Wish it had more on moss gardens though. But i would reccommend.

Author of this book is a New Yorker who works as interior designer, graphic designer and illustrator for over thirty years in Japan. The book is beautifully done with his great background skills. It is nice to have a coffee table book or getting some hints for your unique garden project. Give us a great imagination about Japanese garden!

The beautiful photographs and extensive diagrams only serve to accentuate this authors comprehensive text. Vivid images and step by step sequences along with historical photographs keep this guide grounded in tradition. It is clear to the reader the authors commitment to and love for Japanese gardens and traditions. Funny, but I felt the serenity of these gardens surround me just flipping through the pages! I can’t wait to feel this in my own garden! This beautiful book is a gem! I’m so happy with it!
