AO1002 Sunglasses - AOLite Nylon Lenses

Damn it. I was really excited when I ordered these glasses. I'm drawn to heritage brands and usually love sunglasses in styles that can be described as classic or timeless, because it usually means that the size and shape are pretty foolproof. Classic styles become classic because they suit pretty much everyone.Not so here. I don't have a particularly large head, but on me the AO-1002s look absurdly, comically small. They're not physically much smaller than any of the other dozen pairs of glasses I own, sharing a similar bridge and lens width with some of them, but thanks to the rounded shape of the lens and the very slim frame the overall result is that they look very small. Too small to wear, in fact. The moment I looked in the mirror I cringed, and two minutes later they were back in their box. I guess my wife will be getting a pleasant surprise when she gets home.Despite my disappointment I'm giving these glasses a solid four star rating as the quality seems to be pretty good. The frames feel well built and secure, the temple hinges fold out with quite a refined feel and, best of all, the leather case is fantastic. They're the equal in quality of any pair of Ray Bans I've owned. If only they were just a few millimeters larger they'd be my favourite pair of sunglasses.
