Ready to combat the advancing hordes
For a folding shovel, this thing is built like a brick poophouse. Excellent for digging catholes, sawing small branches, and eviscerating zombies. Only complaint is actually related to its greatest strength - it's heavy, but who cares about a few ounces when you're trying to keep your brains from being hors d'oeuvres?

This doesn't serve me very well metal detecting, but it's great for small projects in my back yard. It's also a good tool for the car, easily stowed because its compact.

This shovel not recommended for digging
Cheap garbage. Not worth it. Didn’t make it through one, 4 day overnight trip. All I wanted to do was bury some crap and the ground wasn’t hard. It wasn’t a big ask and this thing couldn’t pull it off.

Grand kids love these when camping.
I ordered one from Amazon and ordered another from WM the next day. My Amazon Prime order arrived 3 days later than the WM order. Both shovels appear to be identical and fold nicely. The 6 and 7 year olds have no problem opening or closing them. Perfect in the camper.

Looks well constructed but flawed in use
while I loved the size and the seemingly strong construction, on first use the shovel blade would not remain locked in so it would fold when digging weed roots out of hillside. It wasn't being used in a heavy duty situation but still folded up making it much less useful. Contemplating replacing with same to see if just this one shovel or trying other brand

This is quite a sturdy little shovel although I find it rather cumbersome to use. It wants to fold while in use which is annoying. It’s also quite heavy and no ideal for carrying in a day pack.

Práctica.
Se la regalé a mi esposo y ahora vive en su coche como un básico para cualquier emergencia.

Solid little shovel, if you aren't watching your weight!
I love reading all of the reviews for this shovel on Amazon.com with folks giving it poor reviews because " it's too heavy" and "weighs closer to 4lbs". I put this shovel on my digital kitchen scale and it's 1025 grams (2lbs 4oz) WITH the sheath. 977g shovel alone. For $15 and that weight you get an all-metal shovel that handles well and is pretty beefy considering its size. Collapse/extend mechanism works well. The shovel blade can also be turned at 90 degrees so it can be used as a hoe.Don't know about you but if I'm bringing a shovel with me, I want it built like a tank and survive prying and rock strikes. It's not really where you want to cut down on weight. I will happily carry that 1lb extra weight rather than have it break. I really can't tell the difference in weight when it's in my backpack. The shovel can also be kept collapsed by tightening the same nut that keeps it extended. The only "negative" thing I have to say is that the pouch only has a belt loop and isn't easy to attach to outside of a backpack but then again, you can just strap the shovel itself

Pretty good, with a fatal flaw
Sturdy materials with one flaw. The rivets used to hold the pieces together are not tight enough and allow a ton of lateral movement when pressure is applied. Easy enough for me to fix but that shouldn't be my job.

Good
Good shovel and decent case. It's a basic field shovel and does the job.

Bent on first use...
The shovel bent on the first every hole I was digging. The worst part is that it bent while being pushed into the ground, not from prying backwards which is usually what breaks a shovel.
