Creating a Philippine Guerrilla moment in the Philippines
Outstanding account of Commander Charles Parsons starting from scratch a guerrilla moment against the Japanese. Setting up a spy network over which a thousand eyes watch and reported Japanese movements.

Poor conversion from paper to digital for Kindle
Good story! But Amazon did a poor job converting from paper to digital -- some sentences are unintelligible. Disappointing.

Fantastic Read
I have read dozens of books about the war in the Philippines and this brings together several of the first hand accounts i have read. This perspective is more of an over view of many of the individual books that tell one person story. I highly recommend this book!!

WWII Guerilla operations in the Philippines
A great account of guerilla operations in the central Philippines during WWII, but I have no clue why the book cover artist used aircraft to represent submarines.

SUPERMAN WITHOUT A CAPE
This book reminds me of the lurid stories featured in TRUE - The Man's Magazine back in the 1950s. Especial!y the often-flippant-in-the-face-of-danger dialogue. I'd like to believe every word of the story, but can't quite get there from here. Still a good read.

BATTLE FOR THE PHILIPPINES - FROM THE INSIDE
This is a riveting account of leadership - one man, CDR C. Parsons, unifying a fragmented army into a single fighting force, as well as developing the logistical chain to supply them. The text needs some editing as there are numerous instances of errors probably from digital conversion. And, submarines could only charge their batteries while surfaced, not submerged. A fine read. reads like a documentory.
Low level on excitement but paints a very brave picture of our Philippine fighters.

A must read for history buffs
This is a very well written account of Charles Parsons and the Guerrilla-Soldiers in the Philippines during World War II. It’s informative, interesting, and the situations and close encounters make it an exciting read. The footnotes and photos add to the telling. This is a must read for anyone who is interested in World War II history.
