J-B Weld ExhaustWeld 2" x 72" Repair Wrap, White

If you use this kit exactly according to the instructions it will work great. My leak was a hole about 3/4" wide and about 3" long, in a curve about two feet in front of the resonator tips. The exhaust is dual, but located about an inch apart. Just enough space to get the wrap through the gap. I prepped the surface with a wire wheel on my drill. I made the surface shiny all the way around the pipe and two inches on each side of the hole. So I had about 5" of pipe to wrap. I squeezed the pouch as directed and used the gloves. This stuff is a little drippy and messy, but if you are careful and operate slowly, you can get great results without getting drips all over you. The roll would not slip through the gap, so I had to unroll it to be able to pass it between the pipes. I'm working on a lift, so the tail could just dangle and not touch the ground. Anyway I was able to get at least five layers over the actual hole. It is like wrapping a mummy or an old style cast on an arm. After I got it wrapped, I changed gloves and did my best with the little thin strips of foil tape. I really think that is almost silly. It was barely long enough to really do anything and it will only stick to itself, and not to the wet "bandage". I wound up removing the tape after it cured. I started the engine and let it run for about 20 minutes and it was rock hard. With the location that it was, I could see it from behind the car, so after it cured for a couple of days, I gave it a coat of primer grey, so it would be less noticeable than the bright white under the car. I did the repair a couple of months ago and I have driven it a little over a hundred miles and it is still holding perfectly and sounds so much better than a leaky exhaust. And a repair like this was probably 30 times cheaper than replacing the exhaust on this car.

This worked exactly as I needed. I used putty and paste to try to seal the ends of a connector after i cut the pipe and used a sleave to reconnect it. You could still hear put,put,put. It leaked! Used this on both ends of the sleave and it's as quit as can be. I think this stuff works best when both ends of the repair are supported. Without the support I think this would have broke in a short while.

Good for a pinch and when you dont have any alternatives before you can get a real fix. Only thing to remember is that it is permanent and will mess up your pipes or surface if you need to remove it. My muffler shop had to grind this off to be able to weld the new muffler/pipe on.

My wife's car got a crack in the exhaust pipe which also has the front catalytic converter. I did not want to replace it just now, but I also did not want to the pipe to drop if the crack spread. This product wraps around the pipe and will provide supports to about six inches of the pipe. It cures well and seems extremely strong. It is easy to install, just wrap it around. It is good and sticky, has enough length for a few wraps of the pipe, and is certainly a cost effective temporary repair compared to running into the muffler shop. I've had this on her car for a couple of weeks and there is no leakage.

The repair itself worked well and covered my hole on my Toyota Sienna, so I can't complain about the effectiveness of the product. However, I am disappointed by the amount of wrap included. The package stated that it contained 72 inches of wrap. My exhaust pipe has a circumference of roughly 7 inches, and the instructions recommended applying about 5 layers while extending the wrap 2-4 inches beyond the damaged area on each side. Based on those measurements, I expected to have enough material for approximately 10 wraps around the pipe. Instead, one package only provided about 4 wraps. I had purchased a second package as a backup in case I found additional damage elsewhere under the vehicle, but I ended up needing it immediately just to complete the repair as instructed. Because I was working underneath the vehicle, I did not stop to stretch out and physically measure the wrap, so I cannot say with certainty that it was shorter than advertised. However, based on the circumference of the pipe and the number of wraps I was able to make, the amount of material seemed significantly less than the stated 72 inches. The repair worked, but the quantity included did not match my expectations, and I had to use a second package to complete a repair that I believe should have been possible with one.

So I used this to seal around a clamp on my exhaust pipe that was leaking a little bit. The kit comes with vinyl gloves, a foil packet with the repair wrap, and some sticky foil. The instructions say to use the gloves, I would recommend wearing a second pair that cover a little more if you can - this stuff is really messy. Also, make sure you have a safe space to work because you need to work quickly. So mash the foil packet to mix around the goop inside and get it everywhere on the wrap. Then open it carefully and remove the wrap. It's pretty wet so it will probably stick to whatever you are doing. I wrapped the entire thing on mine with enough overlap to cover it well. The sticky foil is supposed to be used at this point to help hold the wrap in place while it cures. I didn't have much luck with that and the foil tape just tore when I wrapped it around. I ended up using some thin copper wire and wrapped it around the repair job. I let it all cure overnight and checked the next day and it had hardened up. I was able to remove what was left of the torn foil tape and then unwound the copper wire too. The repair has held in place now for about 3 months - so far so good!

First off, this is not the seller's fault. The product is garbage as far as what they say it will do. I had a simple exhaust leak where the header pipes joined the exhaust. The sales pitch says it will seal exhaust leaks.. Cleaned the area of all rust and oil Applied per the instructions. First, that little tape they send is useless. Sticky tape does not stick to wet surfaces. I used zip ties as a last resort since the wrap wasn't going to stay on without something. It finally set up as they said it would. Felt kind of soft to me, but guess they knew it would be a little soft in the five layer section. Let it sit over night and started it up. It smokes just as bad as it did with nothing. Now I have to get this off and really fix the leak.

Easy to Use will definitely buy again for future use. I highly recommend this product. I am the type that loves simple and easy. Not only that, but when the product WORKS and is simple and easy? Life doesn't get any better than that!

only few days is just crack

Easy to apply following the instructions and so far seems to have done the job nicely. Was used to seal a rusted hole at a joint a couple of inches from a silencer section and has done exactly that. Well pleased as it was much cheaper and easier to do than to replace what would've ended up likely being the whole exhaust.

I tried the paste before this and it just cracked, this has stayed in one piece. It works great. Not much to say really. It cures on its own in a couple of hours or you can start the car and cure it quicker with the heat. I let mine sit overnight rather than rush it. Maybe that helps.
