amazon truth in advertising
I liked that I got what I ordered, a real "leather" bag. I am a 81 y.o. female who is still pretty sharp, but I let myself get scammed by someone advertising on FaceBook. I won't go into the horror story, just let me say I disputed the charge and was refunded my money after lots of aggravation. When things were straightened out, I went where I know is a reliable source and ordered the bag pictured in this review and I am very happy with it. It is not lined in a feminine fabric, but it is a no nonsense item and suits my needs to the T. Thank you Rustic Town for producing a very fine "Leather" bag and for packaging it so carefully. I will recommend your company to all my family and friends. Rustic Town, I hope you saw my FB post comparing your product to the SCAM product. Sincerely, Joy M. Sansone

Worth every penny - but could stand one improvement
The media could not be loaded. The quality of the leather and craftsmanship certainly met my expectations, based on the description and customer reviews of the leather messenger bag. It fits my MacBook Pro and accessories quite nicely, offers good protection (I'd also purchased a hard shell protective cover for the MacBook), and is a pleasure to carry. The one area of improvement I would suggest is with the straps. The strap leather is somewhat thinner than the leather used for the bag itself, and the straps are longer than needed. Undoing the two buckles each time I need to take out our put back the MacBook is a niggling frustration; had the designer chosen to use a catch-lock or push-button closure --- like this one: https://www.amazon.com/CRAFTMEMORE-Quality-Hardware-YB2234-Brushed/dp/B09F6WXQ4N/ --- it would be easier and faster to open and close the bag, without sacrificing security. (I'm actually thinking of asking the fellow at the shoe and leather repair shop to replace the buckles on mine.)All-in-all, a worthy product, certainly worth the price, hence the four-star rating. Replacing the buckle with a catch would have made it five stars.

Can't fault it for the price... almost
As a product it's quality is top notch. I thought I might receive a kind of PU or bonded leather, but as far as I can tell the leather is of a decent grade. Not sure if the original price it's being sold at is a bit plumped up to make the discount appealing, but even if that was the case it's still well made. I looked into the company and they seem to retain some ethics regrading the production of their items so I think I'm satisfied on that side of things. I hope I'm not wrong.A couple of things, I suspect that If I was caught in a down pour the compartment may allow water inside if the sides are pulled/pushed out either by a tug on the strap holders or if it is fully laden, in the top listing it's says it's 15" wide, at the bottom dimensions it lists 33cm which is very much closer to 13". The bag I received is actually more like 35cm and you may be able to just about get a 14" laptop in there, but again the compartment would be slightly exposed, a 15" laptop? Highly doubtful. In this respect I could have returned it or requested a discount I feel, but I'm happy for now (I may contact the seller) Also, the leather strap was too wide for the brass loop leader (not the buckle), I had to shave a small amount off the end and use a pair of grips to pull it otherwise it would have simply not passed through, over time it should improve with use. Rustic Town might want to check them before they're sent.Edit: I see they've updated the listing to 13" which is about right (while maintaining a 14" size?). Still use the satchel. Since I use it everyday, it has some wear, especially the top flap. Over time it will have an overall worn look and might lose some of its shape if you use it heavily. If it's for work and keeping documents and a laptop in it should keep its shape better and remain as 'smart' as it arrived. If the manufacturers read this feedback, if you re-enforced the inside of top flap with some thicker material it might not crease as much. Though this is down to my personal usage as I put all sorts of misshapen items inside. If you want it pristine as when first bought, it will need a little care (as with all leather items) when it comes to shape. Still a decent buy and I'm considering whether to buy another for formal use.
