Works with Roku Streaming Stick 4K HDR10!
I had to go through several HDMI Audio Extractor products from various vendors here before finding this one that ACTUALLY works! It passes the Roku display test for 4K HDR10 @ 60Hz, and allows output of Dolby Digital Plus via the HDMI Audio Out port to an older AVR that does not have support for ATMOS. If you are looking for a device that works with Roku, auto detects the correct 4K HDR10 display, AND extracts then sends the Dolby Digital Plus audio signal via separate HDMI to your AVR, this is the one.

What the terrible!? Possibly a fire hazard too
These devices are horrible and I wouldn't suggest anyone buy one. I thought my house was going to burn down. The unit got hot enough that I couldn't hold it without putting on gloves and this was after trying to get it to work properly for only 30 min.The audio was atrocious and the video was severely downgraded. No matter what I did i couldn't get good audio out of this and then I gave up because I was afraid of burning the place down.Oh they also strip HDCP 2.3 copy protection which kinda makes them illegal to pass legally encoded video through. Audio as well actually.Oh and the eArc functions didn't work.. at all. At least not before the heat was turned up.Do not buy this.

Worked great for 3 months
It worked great for a few months, split the video and audio signal without bringing the audio signal capacity down. Other splitters that don't specifically extract audio had the effect of bringing a 7.1 input audio signal down to stereo at the outputs, because one output of the split going to a projector which only had a stereo handling capability. Because one side of the splitter was going to a stereo capable device, the other side I was sending to a home theater receiver was only getting a stereo signal. Take away the split to the projector and the side going to the receiver then got the full 7.1.But then at 3 months and a handful of days this stopped working. The video signal alternated between static and short 2 second signal, and the audio alternated between full 5.1 or 7.1 to stereo. Unusable mostly due to no steady picture. Great device and concept while working, just didn't hold up sitting there for 3 months.

Wanted to split HDMI out from a RTX4080 to a receiver, I get no sounds when split and 2.0 using TOC
I did not want to spend 400 on a VERTEX, yet wanted to split Audio out from my RTX4080 to a monitor (2 speakers, poor sounds) and to my receiver 5.1 Surround sound, and quality speakers. Now The video pass through is fine at 1440P (where I tested), but sound did not work. I can get 2 speaker from TOC and no sound at all when I use HDMI (which is what I bought it to do).I did not test eARC as I do not have a use for that, I want to split off the 5.1 audio from teh HDMI and pass it to a receiver, this failed, am returning. Did replace the EDID with 7.1 or 5.1, but since it only output 2 speaker and then using TOC what is the point.

Works perfect... once your set it up correctly.
It makes no sense to me that "hdmi input" is not the input and the "hdmi output arc/earc" is used instead for the input from the tvs arc enabled hdmi port. The "audio only" is the ort for extracted output used to connect via hdmi to my amp.Once I figured all this out it worked great and was streaming discrete 7.1 surround sound to my non arc enabled amplifier.

CEC doesn't work
I have an apple TV 4k and a 2020 Sony TV. CEC function doesn't work when I use this item.

Not working 100%
The audio connection doesn’t get accepted by my receiver in the port that uses Arc, so what I bought this for doesn’t really work, as I can’t control the receiver through my Roku as I did without an hdcp 2.2 connection. And the TV now randomly shows either a screen larger or smaller than it should by the time the devices get turned on, which requires me to turn off and on the sound switch to get things back to normal. So something is not right with this device.
