The Three Paradises: Perfect for fans of Simon Scarrow and Bernard Cornwell (Alexander's Legacy Book 2)

Paradise indeed
This is another excellent book on a topic not often covered. It is unfair to label for fans of..... I feel. It stands in its own right and is a joy to read. It does take s little while to get used to the characters again, as many have similar sounding ones. But the style seen in Game of Thrones of characters having chapters of their own helps keep the narrative going. Not knowing who will win and what will happen I'd great to have when many old stories have familiar characters who we know of. Looking forward to Part 3. Best 99p I've spent on anything Greek.

A Fascinating Historical Read
I gave the book four stars and that was largely down to the manner in which I read it; on Kindle as opposed to "proper" book form. Why is that of import ? Simply because I have still not acquired the skill to flick back and forth between pages and locations when reading a book on Kindle. Consequently, I was unable to refer to the list / cast of characters whilst making my way through the author's fascinating tale of the upheaval that ensued following the death of Alexander the Great.I've got a pretty good memory for characters, but the demands of history mean that some of them even have the same (or very similar) names. The author does an incredible job in distinguishing them, particularly through his chapter headings, but I nevertheless struggled... especially with those whose name began with "A".So, my advice: learn how to use your Kindle so that you can cross-reference your Cast of Characters (and Maps, if your geography of the Ancient World requires occasional prompting) OR buy the paperback. In either case, you'll probably end up giving this book five stars.

Historical fiction at it's best
Another winner from Robert Fabbri of Vespasian fame. Well researched and well written Fabbri meticulously builds his story and characters until they have the reader firmly in their grasp. This is a book to settle down with and allow the writer to take one on a journey to the fateful days following the death of Alexander and the bloody break up of the empire that he built.

Alexander
It was very well written and exhausting in its research but I found there was too much of skullduggery in the ones who wanted to rule this and that province it became pretty boring with grave lack of action from the fighting soldiers who were the finest of their era. There needed to be stories of fighting men against each other savagely as they did.But for those with an eye on history it would be good.I. Prefer more personal battles between soldiers ,not fleets of ships that fire arrows would destroy easily! But very well written ,just rather too engrossing of would be leaders for my entertainment!

Great action continues after Alexander
Really enjoyable read. The characters do take a bit of time to get around the names, but once you’re into the story it careens along at full speed. It’s a really interesting period of history, post Alexander and setting up Greece and Asia for the rise of Rome.

Sequel book
Excellent read but the characters take some getting to know as there are quite a few in the fray all vying for supremacy! I enjoy reading historical fiction based on real events so this was enjoyable for me but I won`t go into the plot. Needless to say there was plotting and bloodshed, attention paid to the details of life in ancient regions of the mediterrean.

A cracking read!
The story of the warring factions after Alexander’s death makes a great read, and Robert Fabbri has brought it vividly to life. Fast paced and hard to put down, well written, and dramatic, I liked how each chapter tells the story from the point of view of each of the protagonists. Strongly recommended to any reader who likes historical fiction.

Loved this book
One of the best books I've ever read. So many twists and turns. Changing alliances, fortunes and glories. This is an untapped source of excellent material that one of the best authors of our generation has brought to life. I like this book even more then the first one. The story flows and less lulls. I'm not doing the book justice but trust me, you will be happy with this series. Now I have to wait for the next book, when.... when
