Very good quality
Wasted time with cheaper Clarinets, spend the money and get something you can learn on. This clarinet is great, worth the money

An Entry Level "King"
Description was off as this did not have adjustable thumbrest - that would be the Prodige model. However I was not worried about this lacking feature, just keep that in mind if that description is not updated. The Clarinet seems good, the tone is good, a noticeable step up from the cheap student Bundy model I had been given as a child in the 80s. the case was a backpack style - which is a cool design, it is good quality and a leather/vinyl like outside, good case. Poor choice of mouthpiece in my view - the mouthpiece that came with this is "Urban Play" (see my pic) which is very cheap, and the chrome color ligature is no win either.Aside from that, it's a good instrument. 4 star. Could be a 5 if the mouthpiece provided was better.

Buffet Clarinets used to be the best, but about 10 years ago the student model B12 and now its Premium replacement became plastic junk that is a nonfunctional bent bunch of corrosion within 2 years. Buy a Yamaha.

Sounds great, nice backpack case, made in China, came with scaring cancer warning note.
It sounds great and came with nice backpack case, grease, cleaning cloth, and reeds. It's made in China, and came with scaring cancer warning note re Proposition 65 requires businesses to provide warnings to Californians about significant exposures to chemicals that cause cancer, birth defects or other reproductive harm. Is it safe? Hence the 4 stars.

... plastic clarinet and hoped that Buffet's Premium was as good as my old B12
I needed a new plastic clarinet and hoped that Buffet's Premium was as good as my old B12. The Premium is a good clarinet. Key work is nice and especially the tone. I checked every note with a tuner. The chalumeau tones are right on, the throat tones a little high as in every clarinet, the clarion notes were nice. The only problem was that the tenon corks were a little too tight. A lot of cork grease or a little sandpaper fixed the problem. The supplied swab was too thick. I use a silk one. I am happy with the quality.
