Healthy way to steam veggies
My mother introduced these little bags to me years ago, and I love them. You can put your food in them, steam quickly and efficiently, without using a pot or one of those metal steamer cages. I like that you can wash them and reuse them over and over, which makes the purchase very cost effective. Good item. I use them for fresh broccoli, corn, mixed vegatables, and many other things.

AWESOME!
The last year I've been trying to eat locally grown produce from the local farmers market or my CSA (Community Supported Agriculture) weekly box of fruits and veggies delivered to my house. I'm also on a weightloss diet and need to eat 4 cups of veggies daily. Lets be honest... there's only sooo many raw veggies you can eat.... and cooking veggies is time consuming and as a single mom/college student/full time employee... well I struggle with that.I used to buy the frozen steamer bags of veggies from the supermarket, they are expensive, and I want to eat local veggies... not veggies bulk farmed somewhere else. Local veggies taste better (they really do!).My other consideration is I am a single mom of an awesome kid with Asperger's Syndrome. The veggies he eats is very limited, and cooking to suit his needs greatly constrains my variety in foods. It was very wasteful time wise to cook up a bunch of veggies that I will only eat, and then cook his foods as well. With these steam bags, my dinner is simple, fast, easy, and yummy!I LOVE these Ziploc Zip'N Steam Cooking bags. When I get my veggie delivery each week, I precut and package the veggies in the bags. Then each day I grab one and take it with me to work. Then at night, I steam one or two to go with my dinner.A few weeks ago, I chopped up a butternut squash. It was way too much for me to eat in a week, so I prepackaged the squash in the bags, and put the excess ones in the freezer. I had one of the frozen bags last night with my dinner. I added a small amount of butter and pumpkin pie seasonings to the bag before I steamed. It came out like a dessert. Very good, and the freezer didn't seem to bother the squash at all. If I was going to freeze for longer than a couple of weeks, I would probably use freezer bags. Now as far as what I've steamed goes... I've had GREAT success with cabbage, kale, chard, spinach, and other greens. I've steamed whole and sliced beets. I've made veggie mixes with garlic/rosemary/fennel mixed in. The veggies absorb the herbs/spices well and taste great. I've slipped in frozen shrimp or grilled chicken tenders with the veggies to make a sort of stir fry.I love these bags! The are a great way to easily get your veggies or healthy meals in.

All sealed up
This purchase was a restock for our pantry. We have use them for years to steam veggies. They do an excellent job as the bag itself is the right thickness and always stays sealed when using in the microwave. The directions let you know the cook time for the items being steamed too.

Love These
I am so glad these are available once more. During COVID I really missed there. I couldn't find them anywhere. They work great! I love that they have directions and markings on each bag. I bought other bags that were so flimsy I thought they would melt in the microwave and they had nothing on them to tell you how much to put in or how long to cook the vegetables.

Great for cooking chicken
I use my microwave to cook chicken tenders which practically snap, crackle, and pop no matter how little fat is on them and how low a power level I use. They do that to a degree in these bags but: the mini explosions are well-contained with nothing escaping to splatter the microwave's interior, and the chicken is very tender.I've given them just a 4 star rating because it's difficult to quickly place narrow pieces like chicken tenders, which I season beforehand, inside the bag and orient them properly for even cooking. A pleat in the sides of the bags—if that's possible—would go a long way to avoid that problem. Despite that I'll continue to use them because it's the best method I've found so far for cooking a small amount of chicken.Additionally, I appreciate being able to season food before cooking which is a downside to using "steam in bag" already-frozen vegetables.

These are harder to find in grocery stores, but should not be!
The Ziploc Zip-N-Steam bags are a fast and easy way to especially prepare vegetables to eat as they come out of the bag or add to other dishes.I've been disappointed to no longer find them in any of the three grocery stores where I shop.

Excelent product
I wish I had known about this product before I bought my steam oven, I use it almost every day for steaming vegetables or precooking some food, I have tried some other brand, but the bags had a tendency to blow open

Fast, flavourful cooking.
These are sturdier than many steaming bags on the market, and very efficient. There are cheaper ones to be had, but nowhere near as good as these. I do grit my teeth a bit when using them if I think of the individual cost, but the advantages of speedy, flavourful cooking and no pans to wash outweighs the cost for me.
