The Bourne Identity [Blu-ray]

Considering this movie is not very colorful, the hdr color grading wasn’t really necessary except maybe to darken black levels or accentuate brighter scenes. It’s overall a very dull palette, likely was made that way on purpose as we don’t know much of anything about Jason Bourne in part 1. The mood and atmosphere are gray and gloomy. It’s not a film that contains many specular highlights or vivid environments. The movie is fantastic as an introduction to Bourne, and the resolution here is clearly a step up from the blu ray, as the grain was kept intact. It doesn’t look like they messed with the picture digitally or added noise reduction. I’ve seen lots of complaints about this 4K version not being up to par. It’s nothing special - I wouldn’t upgrade if I still owned the standard blu ray. But I’ve seen much worse.

This movie is a great movie. The seller is outstanding. Great communication and care with mailing!

This is one of my favorite movies. This and the 5th movie (Jason Bourne 2016) are mastered in 4k while the Bourne Supremacy, Ultimatum and Legacy are mastered in 2k and upscaled to 4k. This does not mean they are bad quality - the new 4k format means way more colors (use of the yellow part of the pixel), making the film look more realistic, and studio grade equipment means way better upscaling than your average console, BD player or TV can do. Also, you get a higher bitrate in the audio because of the new formats.

Good stuff

The Bourne trilogy are the best action movies ever. Everything is superb: the performance, story line, plot, action. Everything is awesome . Matt Damon did an excellent job as "jason Bourne". I have seen the movies several times and I'm watching them again. I wish I can give it 10 stars out of 5!!

The 3 Bourne movies are among my favorites of all time. I used to own all 3 on the defunct HD DVD format. Those were fantastic discs, but the new 4K BD is utter and complete garbage. Not only is the transfer horrible to look at, but the disc is flat-out defective, with almost the entire 2nd half of the film being unwatchable. Luckily, it came with a beautifully made standard BD, which played flawlessly, and looked every bit as good as my old HD DVD.If you want 4K, avoid this title. The standard BD is the way to go.

The front is nice as expected. These 'limited' steelbooks do not really have a back art. It's just information on what the movie is about and some specs. Also at a price like this, you should not expect inside art. That's an easy fix thought if you want you can put your own. There are walkthrough's on youtube. However, they do not always tell you to be careful from cutting your fingers on the inside edges of the steel part. They can be really sharp.

Jason bourne is just epic. The actress is weak.
