So traurig, was der Autor aus den Figuren gemacht hat. Jessica denkt und handelt jetzt anders, musste sich mehr als Actionheldin gestalten lassen. Besonders nervig: ständig kriegt sie von den mit ihr befreundeten Polizeikräften vorgeworfen, wie ätzend es mit ihr ist und dass Cabot Cove wegen ihr ein solches Mordloch geworden ist. Sie sagt zu allem Ja und Amen. Und insgesamt der Ton zwischen den Figuren! Ich kann mir keine Welt vorstellen, in der Sheriff Metzger zu J.B. Fletcher sagt: "You are a pain in the ass, Jessica."

You will notice that many people are giving this MSW book one or two stars. I can assure you it is not because of the story - which is rather the most exciting in quite some time - but instead it is the switch of authors some fans are upset about since they do not like change. I understand their sentiments and will miss Donald Bain, too. However, Jon Land is doing well so far and I hate that people keep writing such horrible reviews based solely on the fact that they dislike the new ghostwriter for Jessica Fletcher. Please, we all want our MSW series to continue for many years to come. I ask that you read it for yourself and decide instead of letting other people's opinions about the author influence your decision to buy.

何十年にもわたって、第一作から原書を楽しく読んでました。この前の作品から作者が代替わりして、その際に全シリーズを精査してなかったようで、ストーリーの傾向、登場人物の性格、お互いの関わり合い、言葉遣い、などに違和感を感じ、面白くなくなりました。懐かしのジェシカおばさんはどこへ行ってしまったのでしょうか。
