Mine was used a lot after surgery and again when I tore a ligament but there's nothing to wear out except maybe the rubber tip. I prefer it over adjustable, aluminum models with the 90 degree grip. It doesn't collapse for storage but it's easy to hang on a doorknob or lay on a car seat and is always ready for use. The cane is sized by cutting excess length. I removed about an inch from the bottom of mine and reinstalled the rubber foot.
