I am so in love with my new Schminke Watercolors! I was so excited to receive these and I was so happy with the price. It was reasonably priced and I was able to get 12 colors and the original metal box as well. I usually like to get tubes because I do believe that I get more for my money but when purchasing any high end Watercolors it can really break the bank!! So I do try to get them when I find a great deal, which for me is getting a great price for the amount of colors I will receive. The metal box was certainly a plus in this case! I can then purchase colors separately as I find them to add to my metal box and when I run out of a color I can either purchase a tube of it and fill in my cake pan or I can purchase a new pan for this set. Also, Schminke Watercolors are so vibrant and juicy that when I use these paints, I use mostly water, so I don't see myself running out anytime in the near future!! When I mix my Watercolors in the metal box (which by the way, has so many different places to mix your paint) I let them dry and then I close the box for the next time I paint. When I open them up to paint again, I am able to reactivate the mixture I made the other day by adding more water. So Watercolors end up lasting for quite a bit of time. I do have Watercolor sets that I bought while in highschool, and I still use them when I'm painting something that I will sell as a print rather than an original copy. With my Schmicke set, these are my favorite Watercolors so when I paint with these, it is always for an original piece of work! Thank you for a great price!

After some research into the field of professional/artist-grade watercolors, i was lead to a handful of manufacturers and one of the highest recommended by artists was Schmincke. I decided to purchase this 12 pan set as opposed to the 24 pan set so that i could not only try the paints, but also allow myself to add 12 additional pans of whatever paint i would like in the future. The tin is well made and is a good size for travel considering it will fit 24 colors and has plenty of mixing areas. Each color is individually wrapped and a swatch card made of watercolor paper is included in the tin for reference. Ingredients are listed on the individual color wrappings and on the swatch card. This is a great set of high quality artist paints, they are highly pigmented, vibrant and re-wet very easily. If you are someone who wants to try the best, this is a great place to start. also amazon beats other retailers for the price! would highly recommend.

The colors in this set are the routine list of colors with one major exception they are Schminke's and as such are a feast for the eyes and the artist in anyone. The colors release immediately giving the painter access to the whole range of the color in use. Rich and pulsating with life or subltle and barely illuminating the paper; The paint in each half pan is exquisite with each color running from intense to sublime and all the graduations inbetween.The set has bright yellows and a warm and cool red,two greens one olive the other a staining green, along with the most intense and lovely of blues ultramarine, as well as some earth colors and a rich deep black.There is room in this set for 12 more half pans or several whole pans as well as a good size brush and if carefully packed a thin pencil for sketching but that is a tight fit and the box is not sold with that in mind. Th3e box itself is elegant and sturdy and made entirely of metal with a black matte expterior a fold out flat palette and three recessed wells in the cover that all fold up into a relatively thin and lightweight painting box with a ring to help hold the palette on your handI have this exact set and was so bowled over by the quality of the colors that I purchased one for a birthday gift and it is now traveling the world with its owner.Half or small pans are easier to get hold of than the whole pans but they can be scouted out and in a tight corner I just buy the empty pans and then buy the colors I want in tube form and fill the pans accordingly.The result is a full range of control over the color palette I am most comfortable with.Their pastels are to die for as well.Happy Painting!!!!!!!

Wonderful little set. If you do your research you know about the quality of these paints. This is indeed the Horadam artist/professional grade watercolors, and this is the best price I've ever seen. An excellent basic set that will last a long time - a tiny bit of pigment will go a LONG way. As for refills and not being available in US, I would highly recommend purchasing a tube here and there to build up your inventory slowly...save lots of money in the long run. Highly recommend this seller- have ordered a few art supplies and while it takes a bit longer, they are awesome to deal with, offer quality merch, and the prices at Jacksons can't be beat.

I assume there's one company that makes all the metal paint boxes and sells them to the paint companies with their respective brands on the cover. As a box, it's fine: carries 24 half pans that will rattle somewhat, has room for a brush or two and flat space to mix colors. It closes firmly. You will likely have the same experience if the box says Blick, Daniel Smith, Schmincke, Crayola or whatever. Shop around for the one that has the best price; they're all the same.

Arrivati in pochissimo tempo. Io non sono un'artista, men che meno con gli acquerelli, ma questi decisamente valgono la spesa: i pigmenti sono incredibili per un acquerello! Non li ho ancora usati per dipingere ma ho tinto dei fiori di stoffa, perfetti! Straconsigliati, sebbene costosi (del resto, la qualità si paga).
