Use a Sata hdd with this mobo
My M.2 hdd works just fine. You have to read the fine print, no pcie Mkey hard drives. Otherwise plug & play, Your name is Dilbert if you can't get the board to work and keep rma'ing for the same issues.I'm still waiting for the day i get to RMA something, but that day has never come and i keep getting older.I often read reviews like i read DOA a lot. I've never gotten anything DOA. I'm disappointed

Nothing I did allowed the on board HDMI to work after post on HIVEOS
I have been in the IT field for 20 years so I know how to setup a motherboard.(I've built hundreds of computers) Nothing I set in the bios allowed the hdmi to work after post. It would get to the board PCIE cards install screen then black out. I tried all the settings in the bios including setting the onboard to always be on. Nothing worked, even updated the bios (Which will not work normally by running the in bios application as it only says server not found so I had to install it with a flash drive. The bios did nothing to fix it if anything I'd say the stability got worse. Also no matter what the cmos was reseting the time in the bios randomly (even after replacing the battery) I'd say everything wrong with the board is BIOS software related other than I'm not sure why they would use MOLEX to power the risers instead of PCIE as most miners use PCIE

Works as described.
I liked that it works well.

Works
New to mining and I'm glad I picked this motherboard rather than setting up a metal rig with risers and such. Needed a BIOS version update before it detected more than 1 card. This was a little frustrating to figure out but that's more an under computer-literate user issue. As it stands, have it running HiveOS, sitting on a large plastic chopping board on standoffs with a piece of wood providing support under the longer GPUs. Works well for small scale mining.

Bad MB and even worse Customer Service
These MB have a lot of issues. I took a chance, and I should not have. The customer service from the MFG tried to help, but said it had to go back to the seller because it was bad and they can only exchange it through the original seller. When working with Platinum Mico, they refused to provide any support, saying it was over 30 the day warranty. I had to show them the communication from ASRocks before they begrudgingly offered to issue a RMA for a replacement. If they found anything wrong with it, which obviously there was SOMETHING wrong, they would reject the exchange for any nick, scratch, or imperfection. Again, it deemed by ASRocks as a bad board, so there was something wrong with it. Sure enough, they found something that may actually be the reason the MB is failing, and rejecting the claim. ASRocks said they would replace the board, once Platinum Micro returned it to them. They have the history, the serial number of the board, AND a ticket number. So please, I know issues dont happen a lot, but when it does you want people who will provide good service. Platinum Micro doesnt seem to be the place for good or adequate customer service. In addition, the serial number and model on the board, DO NOT MATCH the box.UPDATE- there is no ASRock warranty support. The boards are past their warranty period and they won’t help you fix the problem that the seller created or is trying to pass on to you. Best to avoid completely this seller. It’s a scam. Hopefully Amazon will step in.

Minor Inconveniences
This motherboard is exactly what I wanted in terms of a simply designed mining motherboard Unfortunately, it coming with a CD that holds all the required drivers was a bit inconvenient since I don't use one! Below I'm going to list the issues I ran into and the fixes that worked for me.Installing Windows and booting it up was a breeze... but Windows was unable to automatically find a suitable network adapter driver and listed it as an "Other Device" in device manager. ASRock's website indicates that the adapter is a Giga PHY Intel® I219V which fits the hardware ID that Windows lists. I manually searched through drivers available on the system and fortunately the Intel(R) Ethernet Connection (14) 1219-V worked for me. I really don't know why there are so many, 19 in fact, but number 14 worked for me!Time to power the system off and install a graphics card (I have an old 1070)... Dang thing didn't want to boot with it installed regardless of the slot it's in, just kept giving the 5 beeps of doom! Using a USB I tried updating the BIOS from 1.1(initial release) to 1.4 which didn't work so I also enabled C.A.M which didn't fix it either. Still boots fine without the graphics card installed and fortunately the i3-10100 has onboard graphics so I can see what I'm doing. To fix this, I had to go into the BIOS > Advanced menu > Chipset Configuration > changed the Primary Graphics Adapter from Auto to Onboard. I don't know if having my monitor running off the GPU would have caused this same issue or not, but I prefer using onboard graphics with my rig.Now it boots to Windows but didn't recognize the graphics card. This was caused by the GPU's drivers not being installed. After installing and pushing a reboot, it was all good to go!This was the first computer I've put together and the troubleshooting experience was both fun and frustrating!
