2.25 STARS - VERY REPETITIVE!
If you read book 1 of the series this one will confuse you. 1. In book 1 at about 80% someone close to the family dies. 2. The grandfather makes a decision who will led their clan when he's gone. 3. A young couple want to marry and the girls father causes all types of problems. 4. One grandson who is help running the mill gets married. 1. Why do I mention this BECAUSE in THIS book we have the person who died, still alive until the 70% mark (he really isn't mourned). 2. The grandfather HASN'T decided who will lead the clan. 3. The couple go through the same anguish as they did in book 1. 4. The one grandson ISN'T married as he was in the previous story. Why write a second book if it is mostly rehash? The story is simple with the H/h. The H is 22 and is selfish until the end of the story. Usually in this time period, they mature faster, but not this H. No lasting suspense, some romance, lovemaking with heat level 4 out of 5 and described several times. No cheating, no cliffhanger, HEA and an epilogue a few months in the future. I did enjoy their honest conversations and hopes. (ljb)

Wonderful
A wonderful friends to lovers story. Kirsty has loved Brodie her best friend for a long time. But Brodie was very fickle thinking he was in love and each time it only lasted a month or so. When he finally realizes Kirsty is for him he will need to prove that what he feels for her is lasting. This story had everything a family goes through, joy, sorrow and love.

Delightful!
An enchanting story of two young friends, who had a strong friendship growing up. Then one day Brodie saw Kirstine and whispered "For the love of saints, When did ye become so lovely?"Kirstine has loved Brodie forever it seems and she has always been there to listen to him and be his friend. But now she wants more and it seems like Brodie is finally taking notice. But will see be a passing fancy as all his prior affection for ladies have been? Then he gets bored?Simply delightful to watch these two try to make their way to a happy ending!

Fun to read
The hero is a perfect mix of arrogant arse and playful charmer. The heroine is sweet, but not a doormat. This is a friends to lovers trope done well.I was, however, disappointed that we weren’t invited to the wedding. Also, there was lots of intimacy outside of marriage (though no actual consummation), but the actual act was kind of a throw away in the epilogue. It’s not necessary, but it might be helpful to read the previous book. You get to know other important characters there.

Kirsty and Brodie are a delight!
A slow burner that flows fluidly with the building of anticipation, tummy swirling chemistry and intimately sweet, endearing connection.Aubrey Wynne creates an honesty and sweet intimacy in her writing style that makes the characters jump from the page, sway your feelings, grasp your affection and hold your attention whilst remaining relatable, believable and compelling.A well crafted friends to lovers tale, in a series that depicts a clan that holds fast in my affection, has the power to make me laugh and cry and steals a bigger piece of my heart the more I get to know them. Wonderful!!
