Batman: Facts and Stats from the Classic TV Show

mostly a summary for newbies
This is one of my favorite Batman and Robin shows ever. So when I saw this book was coming out I had to preorder it.The colors and way they did the text blurbs, remind me strongly of the show. They have that voice over feel to them. Some of the pictures were blurry however, which I didn’t expect. And while there are facts and statistics, there are far less of them than I had expected.Half the book describes the show’s villains, 2-4 pages for the most recognized ones like Catwoman, Mr. Freeze and the Joker. And then a single page (or less!) for the less-known like The Puzzler and Black Widow. It also gives you a bit of information about the various vehicles. From the Batmobile and Batcycle to the Jokermobile. The first half of the book gives you some information about Batman, Robin, Batgirl, Commissioner Gordon, and a few of the other good guys. But a lot of the info won’t be new to you if you’ve seen the series. I was expecting more trivia, and while there were a number of interesting things, I probably wouldn’t have pre-ordered it if I had known this was what was inside.I still love the book! And if you are, or know, a fan of the show I recommend getting a copy. Just don’t expect it to go very in-depth. It seems to mostly be a summary of the who’s who, to give you a crash course for people who have never seen the show.3.5 Stars(cross-posted to my blog)

this book was a nice try but rather childish
this book was a nice try but rather childish. the information contained within these pages is so irrelevant and childlike. any good information can be found in the book Batman: A Celebration of the Classic TV Series by Robert Garcia, Joe Desris

Not enough to be interesting to a fan.
I pre-ordered this book as a life long fan of this series. I can't imagine to whom who this book is aimed.Too little information for a long time fan. Heck, there aren't even pictures of all of the villains.Seriously disappointed in this purchase as there are far better overviews available.

Nothing New Under the Batsignal Here.
It's really cheesy and if you're like most of us who already own the Batmania book that came out in the 90s, you won't learn anything new or get any new photos. It's laid out like a comic book, which in and of itself is not bad, it seems as if it's made for the kids. Save your money - I blew mine.. The seller was quick to ship and I was happy how quickly it arrived.

only with the hope that it would be something he would like. Well
I bought this as one of the Christmas gifts I gave one of our twin grandsons, only with the hope that it would be something he would like. Well, I was so pleasantly surprised when I discovered his enthusiasm and how much he absolutely LOVED this book. So thanks, Amazon for helping me please a teenager (a task that is not easy to do all the time).

Batman 60's TV show (villains)
Love the book the book came in great shape and told me things I didn't know about the Batman TV series. The book could have had more information about some of the villains on Batman the TV series.

Batman Classic - Fact and Stats Book
Love Batman Original. This book is pretty cool. Sat and read it while watching the original series. It only lacks the actual star "names" on some of the extra villains, which would have been nice, but I really like the book! Recommend.

Fun book with lots of pictures and trivia
Fun book with lots of pictures and trivia. I noticed 1 or 2 facts that I don't think are quite right - for instance, they say Alfred is in every episode, but I remember reading elsewhere that he missed 1 or 2 - but overall, very good, and the page layouts are fantastic!

Two stars (and I'm being generous)
If you're thinking about buying this book to find out lots of interesting facts and stats then you will be sorely disappointed I'm afraid. The stats are pretty much limited to the number of episodes that each villain appeared in and the only interesting facts were limited to the make and model of some of the (later modified) vehicles that appeared in the show. The rest is pretty much page after page of brief character biographies - fine if you're one of those that watched the show as a kid and are now trying to remember the names of the villains, but there's nothing (other than the few vehicle facts) about the production of the show.My recommendation would be to skip this book and buy the "Back to the Batcave" movie; starring Adam West and Burt Ward, it is a series of flashbacks about the making of the show, loosely tied together by a story set in the modern day. It tells you how the actors got their roles, some behind the scenes anecdotes and is a million times more interesting than this very basic primer of a book. One can't help but feel that the book was commissioned purely to cash in on the 50th anniversary, with some hack given a copy of the DVDs and a three week deadline, rather than being researched and written by a fan of the TV show. It absolutely lacks any depth, there's nothing about the making of the show, practically nothing about the people who were part of the show, in fact - barring the few details about the vehicles - nothing that you couldn't learn from just watching the TV show!

Not quite enough, for the price!
While this book is fairly informative (with some good photo shots too.) I was hoping for a bigger book, for it's price tag though!
