Very disappointing compared to BASN's other IEMs
A few months ago I was sent a pair of BASN's Bsinger IEM's to review. I was taken aback by just how good they were - not just how good they were for the very low price, but how good they sounded, irrespective of price. I was so impressed that I immediately bought a set of the higher-end Bmasters, which sounded even better and are without question the best IEMs I have heard, beating even my Shures which cost several times the price. So when I saw that BASN had introduced an even higher-end IEM, it didn't take me long to decide to get a set, and I eagerly waited for them to arrive...Oh dear - what a disappointment. Yes, they look a lot nicer than the Bsingers and Bmasters - the milled aluminium housing looks superb compared to the rather cheap-looking plastic on the others. But where it counts, in sound quality, these are nowhere near as good as even the budget Bsingers. The Bsingers and Bmasters both have a beautifully detailed sound, which is still smooth and unfatiguing to listen to, with good bass extension and clear treble without a trace of harshness. The Metalen...don't. "Harsh" is the word I would use to describe them. Listened to back-to-back with the Bmasters, the Metalen have far less bass, a much harsher overall sound, and are just tiring to listen to for any length of time. I did briefly wonder if I had imagined how good the Bmasters sounded, but switching back to them after the Metalen was like sinking into a hot bath after a freezing swimming pool.Sorry, BASN - you've demonstrated that you can make some of the best sounding headphones money can buy (and for not very much money), but the Metalen sound distinctly average. Not worth the money - mine are going back for a refund, and I'll stick with my Bsingers and Bmasters.

Great for the money
I have shure 846 and 535 and these are up there in terms of quality. Great bass, decent separation. For the money you will struggle to get better

Not top of the line brand name but........
I purchased a different brand because I didn't want to spend a bunch of money on something that in my case is a luxury and not a necessity. I hated the sound of those single driver in ears but I still wanted to try a decent pair. Enter these BASN, I wasn't sure what to expect but i was pleasantly surprised by the quality. Night and day difference between these and the other brand. Are there better choices? I'm sure there is but if you're like me and want something like this without spending a boat load of money but still need them to be a decent product, I feel from my use that these do not disappoint. I'd buy them again in a heartbeat!

Much better than other budget IEMs, BUT:
So far, these are great. They're a replacement for a very cheap $50 pair of UIEMs I bought a few years back that finally broke. Audio quality is what I expected it to be, I do wish there was more low end but that might be fixable. The build quality is solid, the case and cleaning tool are a nice touch, and the cables are great quality...However, the cables are my issue. Both are wire-moldable instead of pre-molded plastic sheathing. I absolutely despise wire-molded cables. I can never get them *just right* and would much prefer if these cables had pre-molded, flexible, plastic sheathing for around the ears. Now I find myself searching online to spend more money on new MMCX cables that will A) fit these IEMs, and B) have the pre-molded sheathing.
