This is my second set. I still have the first set, that everybody tries to take, for probably 10yrs.

Probably should rate it less because the retractable ball mechanism broke after a few months but Iam still able to use as a standard ratchet strap.The large rubber ball just isn't strong enough for repeated use,the tiny plastic pins that hold it together are cheap plastic. They should redesign this part and make it smaller and stronger.I was just getting comfortable using them when it slowly started to come apart and then wham the spring tension blew the case apart see picture. I won't buy again unless there is a redesign. The metal and strap are well made and I will use it for things.

Strange design
The photos online look cool but its really a strange design IMO. Wasn't totally intuitive and was concerned it would break or malfunction easily so I returned.

Learning Curve
After you use these once or twice they are indispensable...I have used them to carry lumber on on the roof of my car and help tie down stuff while helping a friend move they are great especially for the price.

Love these. Won't go back to non-retractable straps again
Love these. Won't go back to non-retractable straps again. I prefer these because they are 14' long, so you can use them for just about anything, unlike the retractables that are only 6' or 10' long. Been using a pair for a couple of years now and they're still going strong.
