Ignition Lock Housing Starter Switch 4B0905851B Replacement for Audi A3 A4 VW Golf MK4 Skoda Seat

At a fraction of the price but works like one took me like 2 hours to install cuz of shear off bolts didn’t want to come out but once I got them this went right in and works great

This is not the part that is advertised. The product is advertised as 4B0905851B but it is actually 4B0905851C. Everything "looks" like it will fit but it doesn't. The shift lock cable release would not fit into the housing. About an hour after filing down the housing, the cable would fit onto the housing but the cable would not work with the lock mechanism. I took the internals out of the new housing and replaced the ones in my old housing- the leg that goes into the ignition switch on my original housing mechanism broke off. Had to grind down the hole where the leg goes out- because the new switch actually has a better design than the original. After about 4 hours of dealing with this poorly made Chinese made product I was able to make it somewhat work but not satisfactorily. The key does not return to the on position easily from the start position. This causes the pinion on the starter to drag on the flywheel which will destroy the starter. Overall, this looked like a decent product but it is not worth the money or the time to try and make it work.I would have it in the mail tomorrow as a return but I tried to make it work by switching parts out and grinding down the housing.Worst purchase in months...This might be a perfect fit if you need a 4B0905851C, but it does not work if you have/need a 4B0905851B. I'm thinking that it might be for a manual transmission and not an automatic and the seller just assumed it was interchangeable. I ordered another one on ebay...hoping for better luck.

Dont waste your time & money on this cheap part. 2 issues. The lock cylinder would not click into place so it’s basically useless then. Lastly the small cable that plugs into the front of this doesn’t slide on without being forced. I returned it and bought one for $65 from FCP Euro and it went together with no issues. Plus FCP gave me 2 new bolts that r the ones used to secure the housing from the top. The original bolts need to be manipulated to get off. It’s nice it came with new bolts that u can use a 1/4” socket on to attach. Sometimes u can get away with cheap China parts from Amazon but not in my case. Good luck

After waiting over a week for it, it doesn't fit.I ordered it for a 2010 Beetle and it does not fit without heavy modifications. I had no choice but to grind on it to make the theft deterrent ring fit into the housing.Car is back on the road but wish I didn't have to spend a couple hours making it work.
