Certified to Work With Synology Routers.
After experiencing some Flash Drive issues with the cheap drives I usually use and after doing some research, I discovered that not all USB 3 Flash Drives are alike...not at all. There is a definite relationship between cost and performance for the same capacity, in my case, 64MB. Most of that performance is related to read and write speeds....more money, more, and faster. My Synology Router requires a Flash Drive to offer certain security features, and when initially using an unknown chinese brand USB 3.0 drive, the router would report a data failure and have to rebuild the entire database. This happened about once per day. So I looked on the Synology website and found they recommended specific flash drives, the SanDisk Extreme is one of the few that have been certified to operate well with their router. After installing this 64MB Sandisk Flash Drive, the usually long router process times to manage the database are not much faster, and I have had no issues at all with read or write failures that caused me to find a quality drive in the first place.

Crazy Fast
This thing is fast. I'm seeing sustained reads of 391 MB/s (rated 395) for a 9.4 GB write test consisting of large ISO files and sustained writes of 147 MB/s (with peaks around 172 MB/s--rated 180) for the same test files. The writes are faster than the reads on many cheap USB drives. Something on my Win 11 Pro Laptop was causing a long bog-down at some point between half way to 3/4 through the read test so I needed to finish the test on Liunx which showed the true read performance. It's probably something unique to my laptop. I wish there was some kind of dust cap for the USB end.

as advertised
Flash drive is as designed. I chose the manufacturer so advertised design specs would be true. Comes with a few sandisk bloatware. The USB was very difficult to slide in and out of the plastic casing for the first few times. The key ring section is offset, which really does not work efficiently for me. Maybe for other people.

At least its materials are decent.
This thumb drive is made out of materials that don't crumble within my grasp upon its first use. This should be just a given, but, sadly, it really isn't anymore. Its advertised write speeds appear accurate... for the first 4.5 GiB or so. After that, it slows to a crawl at about 10 MiB/s, the low end of USB 2 speeds. Hazarding a guess, its got a USB 3 interface, cheap memory chips, and a write behind cache. Once the cache is saturated, you're stuck at cheap memory chip write speeds. So its perceived write speed is smoke and mirrors. My advice: if you never need to transfer more than 4.5 GiB at a time, sure, buy it. Just make sure you eject it properly so its write-behind cache can finish committing the data before you yank its power supply.... or your data might not all be there.

Excelente.

Fast, reliable USB drive built for constant read and write use
I bought this SanDisk Extreme Go USB drive specifically for my ASUS router running Merlin firmware. I use it to offload system storage and run custom add-ons, logs, and background services, with the goal of improving router performance and stability. This is a very different use case from normal file storage, as it involves constant read and write activity. What worked: This drive has been excellent for this purpose. The Extreme Go model is designed to handle sustained read and write operations, which is precisely what a router environment needs. Performance has been fast and stable, with no issues handling continuous logging or system access. The build feels solid, and it has behaved exactly as expected for a device that is under near constant use rather than occasional file transfers. For this kind of workload, it stands out from cheaper USB sticks that are not designed for ongoing activity. What didn’t: Nothing so far. For my use case, it has performed exactly as needed. Would I recommend it: Yes, especially if you are using it for advanced or technical purposes like routers, servers, or systems that constantly read and write data. For normal file storage, it is still a great USB drive, but it really shines in scenarios where cheaper drives tend to fail or corrupt over time. Final note: This USB stick has handled more constant activity than most home routers see in their lifetime, and unlike cheaper drives, it has not had a meltdown under pressure.
