*Update* After finishing my first tub and immediately reordering I have to admit I am obsessed with the flavor, I guess its an acquired taste and I fell in love with it. I am changing my original 4-star review to 5-stars. My new normal is to add a heaping quarter teaspoon of decaf instant coffee to the milk I mix the powder in with, an absolutely decadent tasting drink. ________Original review below________ Its mixes pretty well, it doesn't get lumpy, maybe a bit frothy, but that can be resolved quite quickly. The vanilla taste is definitely weird at first. At first taste it bordered on sickeningly sweet and slightly burnt, like twice roasted and them caramelized vanilla. After a week it started tasting more normal and after a month I am totally fine with the taste now. My favorite is to make make it with milk and then add a splash of black coffee, it actually tastes really good with some coffee added to knock back the sweetness and give it a bit more depth.

I've tried many protein brands (Dymatize, ON, Premier, MyProtein, Plant Based Proteins etc.), but my stomach was always bloated. This time, I gave Muscletech a try and ordered this, and I'm loving it! It's the first protein brand that doesn't bloat my stomach, even on an empty stomach, and it's made my life and workouts so much better! It doesn’t taste that great but it’s so cheap and the main thing is it does not bloat my stomach! Highly Recommended for anyone with bloating issues with protein power! (Note: It may not work for all the body types, but definitely give it a try!)

The first dozen scoops from the top tasted like old protein, and I'm thinking it was due to some sort of storage issue... Think of leaving your protein container out for a few days, and that terrible smell that exists. It wasn't to that extent but you could tell there was a slight smell to it at first. As soon as I used up the top layer of protein, that smell immediately went away and the protein was normal.

My husband blends this in the Magic Bullet with almond milk and really likes the texture and flavor. It doesn't upset his stomach like some of the other protein powders. The protein content is excellent and the sugar grams are very low.

We drink protein powders every day both as meal replacements and also for after-workout recovery drinks. We find the Nitro Tech Whey Gold works well for us as a meal replacement or smoothie creator, because it has a medium level of thickness. We don't use this powder as an after-workout drink, because we prefer our after-workout drinks to be a bit thinner so they can swallow more quickly and easily. Also, while some powders easily shake into a smooth mixture, this one ends up with small lumps, even with fairly thorough shaking. It does do great with a blender though. So another point in the direction of kitchen-meals rather than on-the-go workout drinks. The Nitro Tech Whey Gold has both whey peptides and isolates. That's another reason we prefer this as a meal replacement or smoothie shake. We generally prefer just isolates for after a workout. The flavor, French Vanilla Creme, is fairly light in strength. It also has a bit of a "chemically" flavor. It is tolerable, but not as luscious as some other brands. Still, if we make a smoothie out of this and toss in a few fruits or berries, it forms a perfect base for the overall flavor profile. It's nice that the Nitro Tech Whey Gold has the "authentication" seal on the top of the lid so you know you're getting the real deal. On the down side, some of the other protein drinks we use guarantee that they won't pop positive (by mistake) on the various drug tests that are administered in the sports world. This shake doesn't have that statement. It could be they are quite fine and won't cause a problem, but it would be nice for them to guarantee it on the label. All in all, we like this, and use it fairly regularly as a meal replacement or smoothie option.

If I could rate this 0 stars I would. They must have changed the formula recently (and tub design) and it’s now labeled as “French vanilla cream”. I don’t know what they did to this flavor, but it’s the most horrid, chemical-tasting protein powder I’ve ever had the misfortune of consuming. It’s disgusting. This should not be sellable.

Taste great mixes well full of everything you need to build muscle. Price is fair compared to other brands.

All I can say, once I don't return it, it is solid and reliable. Trust me!

The taste is wonderful, it dissolves easy and the best part is that is not causing any stomach issues! I love it and of course I highly recommend it
