Very good quality ink. Continued high quality overtime.
I have used Pilot ink for 50+ years in my Pilot fountain (and ballpoint) pens. Its consistent high quality, durability, resistance to fading, smooth coverage and quick drying is the reason.Using lessor quality ink (like cheap Chinese knock-off ink) will clog a pen owing to poor consistency and if dried in the pen is often time-consuming to remove.I'm not saying that Pilot ink won't dry in your fountain pen and require cleaning. It will clog up eventually after long use or if the nib is uncovered or the pen is unused for a long time. That is normal for fountain pen ink. This ink cleans out well and quickly when necessary. It is also well sealed and will last in storage for many years. (If you find a bargain sale you can stock up and not worry that cartridges will dry out.) If the cartridge in the pen is unused and dries up it can be used again by adding water into the cartridge to reconstiute it.When this happens the membrane between nib and cartridge can dry out and need rinsing but that situation is not the fault of the ink

Great ink for the price!
While I'm still fairly new to fountain pens, this ink works for the "Pilot MR Retro Pop (Color of pen) Fountain Pen" and the "PILOT Kakuno Fountain Pen". When inserting the cartridge into the pen give it a slight squeeze one or two times.Depending on how much you write and how fast, slower = more ink, faster = slightly less... 1 cartridge should last a week, just keep in mind that this type of ink will bleed into cheap paper really fast like a color based paint like receipt paper or cheap copier paper is not what you want to use this option of ink with via a pen.

Boring color, boringly reliable
It's not the greatest when it comes to color, but it is a solid performer. Flow is great, dries quickly, the blue is semi-resistant to water, and the fit into Pilot pens is of course perfect. If you are really set on using cartridges instead of bottle ink, there aren't any other options.

Good ink for a Pilot Vanishing Point
I use this ink in my Pilot Vanishing Point. The ink is well formulated for the ordinary spiral notebook paper I routinely write on while doing research. There's not much bleed-through or ghosting. Also, it's very convenient to use cartridges rather than ink in a bottle, especially when away from home in some library. The blue-black ink cartridge is my favorite. Recommended for use with inexpensive paper.

As expected
Generally fine but difficult to install on new Pilot Metropolitan- too a bit of force to pierce the tip.
